Public Forums and Chat Rooms

Once submitted, postings become the sole property of Cavies Galore. All rights are waived unless copyright is in place and written permission has been obtained by Lisa Kountz to allow copyrighted materials to be posted. Cavies Galore reserves the right to remove any postings deemed objectionable by the Webmaster or Moderators.

You must register to use the Cavy Forums. When registering on the Cavy Forums you must provide a username, password, and e-mail address. All other information is optional. We don’t group this data or graph it in any way. It’s solely provided so that other visitors can learn more about you, if you choose to let them.

We can only see your IP address if you register and post on the Cavy Forums. We use your IP address to ban you from participating in the Cavy Forums if you break the agreement that you agree to when you become a member. The Cavy Forum’s moderators and administrators can access your IP address. We don’t use your IP address for any other purpose.

Once posted, you may not change or remove any public postings made on our site including our chat room.

You don’t have to register to use the chat room. You may register if you wish to do so. Registration takes place on a separate database from the Cavy Forums; you can only register a username and password. Unless otherwise noted, the chat room is not logged.

Spamming, advertising and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email  and private messaging systems to contact other members for these reasons.

We do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or Violate Cavies Galore community standards. The Cavies Galore team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

Cavies Galore reserves the right to remove any post without warning or further notice.

Cavies Galore reserves the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules.

The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, and/or canceling membership to this site. 

We occasionally run optional, online surveys that ask visitors for demographic information (like their zip code, age, or income level). We use this data to tailor the site towards the main audience. Your demographic information is not viewed separately from the main survey. Any demographic information is provided voluntarily and is not sold to third parties.

We regularly run cavy polls that you may participate in on a voluntary basis. The poll results are posted for anyone to see. You can’t see individual results. The data collected from these polls may be used to tailor Cavies Galore toward its audience and is free for anyone to use.

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. This site regularly backs up information to prevent loss and has passwords in place to prevent misuse or alteration of information.

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners at the point where we request information about the visitor.

This site gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.
