<WandaC> It will help them get some of the vitamins they need, but using parsley, or celantro or kale is a better source of Vitamin C.  Timothy hay is really good for roughage, but I know much else about it

<poohb> I have heard a lot about giving vitamin c and then not to give it.  So do you or do you not give liquid vitamin c daily?  Gordy,my guinea is still being introduced to new veggies very slowly because if I don't do it slowly then she gets diarrehea really easy.  Soooo do I give the liquid vitamin c while I am introducing her to new veggies?

<carol> chemicals in the water affect humans...they probably affect our pets as well. That's why I filter their water. Another thing I didn;t do for Oreo.

 in the water as there is a lot of confusion about it.

<hamlet1> We had Mr. Piggy Man for 7 years, and I just ignored the veggie comment because he was quite healthy.  Had to be put to sleep after a long healthy life.  He was in soo much pain at the end it was the most loving thing.

<abc456> when we had to go to the vet she had references for the drugs and made sure they were piggie safe before giving them.     When i later asked her about worming she rang the manufacturer to find a cheaper alternative for me.    service beyond the call of duty  (she could have given me the expensive wormer and I would have paid)

<JosephineC> Valves must be cleaned like anything else,  I tried valves and was constantly taking them apart and cleaning them... are these better?  I can't imagine giving up on maintenance...

<hamlet1> WHen I was in jr. high, my parents got me a piggy for Christmas.  A month later we had 6.  We complained to the pet store and they said they put their piggies togeter when they clean the cage.  Imagine!

<poohb> I payed $20 for mine then another $100 plus for supplies -- cage, water bottle etc.   I would have gladly paid $35 if I knew I got a healthy pig and knew it had been checked over by a vet or even given some pamphlet handouts of how to take care of it.
