She knows the sound of a bag of food vs. any other type of bag, and man oh man does she sing! She likes to keep her sister, Diana, in check by nipping her once in a while when the food bowl is being hogged.
Very cute and not shy at all, he doesn't squeek which is good because he lives in my bedroom and comes out to play everyday, though he makes a lot of noise at night chewing his water bottle and digging in his food, lovely little man =]
Ralph is and has always been a very clever cavy. Everyone says that Ralph does not understand a word i say when i read him bed time stories but i snuggle him close and he pays attention very well. He is all brown except for one little with spot by his head. He enjoys honeydew melon and when i turn on "soft rock." Ralph gets along well with kids and animals. He is not the guinea pig that will go to bite a stranger. He is nice and calm. I could never ask for a better guinea pig than Ralph! I hope you agree.
Freckles is very outgoing, clever, energetic, and spunky. He has a brother, named Ralph. He is quite the eater. He is 1 and a half years old. He is multi-colored and weighs 2.5 lbs. He gets along great with my other pets. He is the best guinea pig in the world.

Biscuit is a very noisy little girl. She has a least six rosettes all over her. She enjoys cuddles, and is very fond of strawberries. Her best friend is a rabbit called Toffee. She's quite a shy character but very recently she ventured out of her hutch by herself for the very first time, needless to say she takes the opportunity to do so as much as possible now. These outings are accompanied by much squeaking just to make sure eberybody knows she is there. At dinnertime she tends to ignore food put down for her but instead steals the food Toffee is eating right out of her mouth, this has been going on a while and Toffee now just accepts this.
Tiny is a mixed male. His color is brown and white. He is sweet to me and everyone. He also gives everyone kisses. he also keeps me happy all the time. He lives with my brothers rabbit named cuious
Dark Choclate is a black and brown american. He lives with my pet dwarf. He is also a father of 3. his favorite pasttimes include playing hide and seek in the room but he always wins. His girl friend is whitechoclate. She is a mix but is just as sweet.
squeaky is my first guinea pig . he is a healthy , laid back , furry piggie ! he love's to eat . he mostly alway's has his head dipped in the food bowl . he lives with his best friend , gracie . they are both young , and one day they plan to have babies . squeaky is very special to me . i have only had him a short period of time , but squeaky and gracie have become one of my best friends . the love going out side , and unlike gracie , sqeaky love's our lazy cat ! they both like to run around , and get groomed . i mean , how can you not love a face like that ?!
gracie is my pride and joy . when i first got her , her ear was cut in half , and the other ear has a small hole in it . she looked extremly thin , and just overall un healthy . well i could not stand a poor guinea pig in that type of condition . so i adopted her . now she is doing fine . she gained some weight , and her ears are doing better . she lives with my other guinea pig sqeaky in my room . i them every day , and they have both become my best friends .

Tinkerbell is the most outgoing guinea pig you will ever meet. She is all white with a brown spot on her back, also with a brown ear. She loves her treats and is a fat piggie! Also she loves all my other animals like my dog. What makes her so cute is her curiosity. Tinkerbell is just a cute, lazy, 3 year old guinea pig who lover everyone!!
Chester is an adorable 'multicolored' guinea pig. I like the fact that his colors look very close to my cat's colors. He's only about three months old, and is very curious. He also LOVES my other pets. He follows my dog around the house when i'm holding him, and he jumps at the chance to snuggle my cat. He's the best!
Donut is a cute little black guinea pig with a white stripe down her face. She likes being taken out and cuddling agenst me, Once, she even got into my hoodie pocket! It took a little while to get her out. She is with me now at the computer, looking around. She is very curious, and the first time i let her out of the cage, i ALMOST lost her under the couch! She likes being scratched on the head, but hates taking baths. She isn't as bad in the tub as her cage-mate, Muffin, though. Muffin performs flying leaps out of the small tub i give them baths in! Its so funny... :) She purrs when you just kinda rest your hand on her back, and loves to run around. Her favorite food is lettuce, and she also likes cucumber. Probably the funniest thing that happened was when she got the hiccups!
Short haird ginny pig colors tan and white

she is a cute and lovable guinea pig, she loves to be stroked on her rosets and purrs whenever someone dose. she hates baths and once caught a small cold from a slitly cold one! She loves carrots and gobbles them up whenever they are put in front of her!!! She is not terribly smart but that is what we love her for. She is an Abbisinan. Her soft coat is toretashell. She has soft little padded feet. She was born on the 13 of may 2006. Her mother is called Olga da Polga who is also entering for Cavy of the month. She gets allong well with other animals. She is not skared of any thing (which is sometimes worrying). She loves running around on the lawn. Even though she is all grown up, her mother still looks after her. She has two brothers. Her favorite game is hide and seek. She loves the game so much but we are always The finder. She loves to hide. Her eyes are black and her feet are black. She loves being brushed and combed. She is a great guinea pig!
She is a cute and lovable guinea pig, she loves to be held and groomed. She purrs and kisses you when you stroke her rosettes!!! She loves sitting with her friends on hot summer mornings and nibbling the grass. She was born on valintines day 2006 and she came pregnant. She had three tiny babys on the way back from the vet caus we thought she was getting fat! She loves to eat and run around in the gardan. Sometimes she climbs into the vejy patch and eats some of the plants! She is really smart because when ever you open the fridje door, she squeeks and runns around the caje. One of her babys is still with us and is grown up, Olga da Polga still looks after the Baby though!!! She knows her name because when we call 'Olga' (her nick name) she looks up and whistles. She hates it when you squeeze her too tight!!! She loves it when someone sings to her, she sometimes sings-squeeks along to. FACTS: she is a tortushell guineapig. She is fat and loves to eat! Jazz is dumb as a rock most of the time but he's my whole world. He's soo sweet but he hates it when i cut the hair near his rear (I trim him regularly because he's not a show pig and tends to sleep where he pees) He's the best fat piggy in the world!
She's a little nuts and she does this coughing thing once in a while (done it her whole life) but she's an abosolute sweetheart and never lets go of a chance to come out of her cage to play or cuddle
She is just an absolute doll! Her sister, Bowie, and she run around together in my bedroom on the floor and they go crazy fast jumping randomly all the while :)

Chip is the sweetest baby boy ever. We got him on my birthday last year, so he is a little over a year old. Chip loves to cuddle and loves carrots. He has the cutest big bottom lip. If you ask Chip 'Do you want a snack?' he goes crazy and runs around in circles in his cage squeaking the whole time. We're lucky to have found such a wonderful cavy as our first. He's definately a mommas boy. If he's outside for outside salad, and he gets scared, he runs to me and climbs up in my lap. Everyone falls in love with Chip as soon as they meet him, he has his own myspace page and his own fan club. Believe it or not, we've had cocktail parties so people could come over and meet him. Everyone loves Chip!
Chestnut & white 5 years old. Very friendley cavy she come out & in her cage when I ask her to. She climb thourght the cat flap to come to see us. She knows when we have veg in she squeaks a lot so we can heard her in any room of the house. She is very friendley with other animals I give her a shower and she loves it so much. She is a very lively guiena pig for her age I have had her since I was 10.
black and white
grey and has white paws
Spritzer loves to sleep and chase the females in his enclosure. He's neutered, so he tires of this quickly and returns to nap. However, every time I enter the room he jumps up and runs to the side of the cage to say hello. His favorite foods are peppers and apples, and he will do just about anything for them, including standing up on his hindlegs and walking. He doesn't have great balance, so I consider it a feat if he manages one to two steps before falling over. He also loves to play tag with our other guinea pig, Margarita. Spritzer is a little over four years old and is a prime example of a golden agouti, although the white stripe on his back ruined his career as a show pig.
Total nutter, squeeks when i enter room, loves brokkoli & always pop corning!
White and Brown, and very sweet, and is shy.
white and brown
Pip is really cheeky and has a huge character. He loves cuddles and will just snuggle up on you lap. Pip is really gready and when he wants food he will squeak and never stop until he gets it. He's so hyper and when he comes out for floor time he will run and jump and not even stop for a little rest. Pip is really spoiled and has so many treats and toys it's unbelievable. Pip is about 2 years old and his fur is white, brown and tan.

He was our first pet together, our baby. Sgt. Pepper was the quiet variety of guinea pig as we’ve come to learn by having Penny, she’s always chattering. He was so calm; he would just sit on your shoulder while you were on the computer or reading for hours; he was the best pet to have. He was odd though, for a guinea pig. He only like pellets and timothy hay, he didn’t care for vegetables or fruit, which Penny loves. He had a few tiny stuffed animals that he loved laying on, and it was the cutest thing to catch him with his head resting on one with his adoring eyes looking up at you.
He is very fast and loves to explore. Chip, hense the name chip, is brown with black slits running along him. This is not an actual phota of him, i got it off the internet. (I don't know how to download pictures)
She is very fast. she loves to run. She is black and white with short fur. Sha has a small pink nose.I think she deserves to be cavy of the month.

hylkdh,.yahooo goolrd
This is a tribute to my beloved guinea pig Duchess who passed away on May 9, 2007. She was a sassy yet sweet guinea pig who loved nothing more than to be outside in the backyard in the big cage we built her. Her nickname was Piggy and every morning our family would come outside to the cage in the backyard and greet her and give her her morning helping of lettuce and carrots. She was so tame that we would call her name and she would come sprinting out of the little wooden house we made for her to greet us. She was very territorial over her lettuce often after we gave it to her she would go inside her wooden house and take it in there with her. She was so funny. We had her for four years and she brought so much delight to us. She had a lot of fur and was often so messy that it made us smile. We had her for almost four years but seemed more like four months. When we brought her home from the petstore she was so little that she could fit inside the palm of our hand. Another thing that we found funny is when she would "popcorn" in the air; I think she was mad when she did this. Often, it was after we would take her food dish away to refill it. She was so spoiled that she would get mad when we took something away from her. I am convinced that she is the most beautiful guinea pig in the world. She is an Abyssinian with burnt orange and white markings. Her eyes are two different colors. One is brown and the other is sort of like a dark blue. She is truly one of a kind. She is greatly missed.
She's 2 years old and loves carrots and bananas. Whenever someone's sitting at the computer she nibbles the person's feet. She loves sleeping inside he blankets.

Shes Fat and goes crazy over lettuce. She recently has a baby that is likie 4 months old named carl, which is a girl also and they love each other very much ^-^
This is my baby, Toby. I wanted a pet so bad, and my parents decided to get me a guinea pig one Christmas. When I went to get him, he was the last one at the pet store, and they told us he was the runt of the litter. I immediatly fell in love with him. I named him Toby. Toby was always there for me. He learned his name, came when he was called, jumped out of his cage all by himself, and went to the bathroom in a litter box outside of his cage. He ran around the house, and loved being chased by my dog Cooper. When he was hungry, he'd put his paws on the fridge and squeak loudly. He loved to cuddle on my left shoulder only. Sometimes, he would even eat my hair. When we had carpeting on our stairs, he'd love to jump up every single one until he got to the top! His favorite meal was red leaf lettuce, and his pellets. One time he even got his head stuck in his pellet bag. Just recently Toby got very sick. The vet thinks he may have ate something, and it was stuck in his intestines. But, Toby immediatley bounced back, and was completely back to normal for 2 whole weeks! He seemed like such a tough little guy. Sadly however, 2 days ago, he was very sick again when i came home form school. I cuddled him and told him how much I loved him. Unfortunetly, the next morning, Toby had passed away. He was such a big part of my family and I loved him so much. I burried him underneath a tree I planted when I waas just 5 years old. I loved Toby so much and I will never forget him!

Very wild, fun loving, very social
He's a 6 months old english cavy that absolutely LOVES to be petted or brushed. He's very fast, friendly, and patient. We call him my "lap dog" because if I lay him on my lap he will just sit there and look at me. Oreo squeaks all the time for me too! He is also very very very curious and loves exploring new places in my house. My cavy is so cute so I hope he will be chosen to be the cavy of the month!!!!!
Scout is my third generation guinea pig. I owned his grandmother, his father, and him. He will turn one year old April 15, so he's still my little baby. You cant tell in this picture because he's wet, but he has an arrow shaped white mark on in between his ears, which made my friend think of a medieval archer scout. He is my favorite of all my eight piggies, and I hope his gets to be the cavy of the month.

This is a tribute to Reeses, who left us on 1/12/2007 at the age of 3 yrs. 10 mos. Reeses was the most lovable guinea pig we have ever had. He was a brown, tan & white short hair, and when he squealed for his treats, he sounded like a little lion trying to roar. He loved to snuggle with his mom (me) and always nestled his little nose right under my chin. Reeses loved bath-time, His favorite treats were carrots, apples, timothy hay, and cucumbers. His little lips always turned and orange color after he ate his carrots - like a little kid who's lips turn color when they eat a popsicle! Reeses loved his pig-loo and his stuffed animal. He will be missed by his mom, dad, and his 5 siblings. We love you, buddy!
He is a chocolate vanilla Cavy.
this is my baby toby. sometimes, i think he's a dog. If i open the cage door, he'll jump right out! if I call his name, he'll come, and when he's hungary, he'll put his paws right up on the fridge! he even goes potty in his litter box outside of his cage. i love him sooooo much!!! <3

Unfourtunatly, we have sold her/him.(we dont know what sex it is but the owner says that it is getting fat!) We loved it so much but we had to sell shortstuff and freckle sooner or later. (Freckle is the fluffy baby in the bowl!) When I first saw her i fell in love with her. She is GORGEOUS! I love it when she fluffs up.
Our (ex) little monster!
Jimmy funnily enough is a female! She has had 2 lots of babies (4 in each. 1 died each time. Poor babies.) She is a very cuddly girl and she cuddles her nose under your chin!(Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!) She is a gorgeous tortouisshell cavy.
Beautiful boar, black body and a white blaze on his face.(he nibbles on the hutche's bars when he sees me!)
Sienna is a 6 month old peruvian piggy. She is so beautiful, she looks just like her father.Sienna is very tame and loves to sit on my lap or just snuggle up in the covers with me. Yes i admit she is spoiled, just like the rest of our piggy family.

Was a little surprised when we bought her from a pet shop, took her home and just over a month later we had 3 new Guinea pigs! Beryl (middle) – 6 months old and always manages to look slightly camp in all her photos. On her way to becoming a big pig! Bumblesquat (right) – 6 weeks old, courtesy of Babs. Still a bit shy, but very cute!

She is a sweet, gorgeous, and cunning piggy!
She loves to eat and is soo cute andI love her to death!!
I actually got Spanky because of my older brother. Our former guinea pig, Butterscotch, had recently died, and I was begging my mom for another. We went to the pet store, and I saw a gorgeous white guinea pig. My brother pointed out a smaller, brown and white guinea pig, but I wouldent listen to him. We brought Spunky, the white cavy, home and she seemed lonesome. We went back to the pet store and the small brown and white cavy was still there. It turned out that she was Spunky's sister. When she unexpectedly had Twister and Chloe, the pet store apologized and said there had been a male in the female cage. Anyway, since then, Chloe and Spunky have passed away, but Twister is continuing the family and now has a son! Spanky, being old, dislikes all guinea pigs except Scout, her grandson. And she really likes to squeal when it's feeding time. =)
black and white
Twister is the one on the left. He is about three years old and very handsome. Scout is the tan one on the right and is about three months old. He is Twister's son. Both of these guineas were born in my basement! They also have a not-so-secret admirer. My dog, Luke, truly believes that they are puppies and tries to lick them to death. It is quite unusual to see two male guineas that aren't brothers get along. The first time they were introduced, Twister bullied Scout. Same thing the second time around, but the third time, he took an unusual liking to the little guy. I also own another one, whom all my guinea pigs like. She is Twister's mother, and is reaching the old age of five. Since Scout's birth, everyone has been calling her Nanna pig (formally known as Spanky). They live together and have the most popular hangout in my house-The Guinea Dome(which in reality is a cardboard box).
handsome 2 month old skinny pig!!
he is very cute
Fluffy, oarnge, and white. He loves to eat and sleep!!! He is the best pet in the whole world because he is so cute and nice. He has gotten lost in the house a couple of times, but all is well.
black in color, it's not very quick but fun to play with. It loves Bath's and Nitrous Oxide :)
I was at the pet store just browsing, when I saw the smallest Guniea pig I had ever seen! She was so cute and skiddish that I couldn't help but get her. At first I didn't have enough money. So I ran home and found all the money I could and even after that I had to borrow some from my brother and sister. But it was worth it. Not only do I have the sweetest pet in the world, but my other pig has a friend as well.
she's a peruvian, one year 5 months old. From mexico
They are the cutest, sweetest babies around! The pic is of when i first got them about a year ago, and they've grown beautifully. Now they each weigh about 2.2 pounds, and they're sweeter than ever. I'll love my babies forever.
she is small, cute and loud! she allways wants attention, and knows how to get it.
"Scotchy" has hair about 8 inches long and growing. I'm a kid so he's very friendly!
Rooster is a new girl to my family. My step-mother thinks i am too crazy about my guinea pigs (5 in total) Since she is very into St. Patrick's day, I decided to share my love of pigs with her love of the Irish. Rooster was the willing glamor model!
When I went to get Pyg from the pet store he was the smallest. A few weeks later I noticed that one of his eyes were bigger than the other and he can't see out of it well. I hope that it doesn't become serious! Pyg likes to lick me and has never bitten anyone. He is sooooooooo sweet! He is the best friend anyone could have!
farmville,va
Goldenish, and white fur
Curly sadly passed away about 2 days after this picture was taken. She had the weirdest hair I have ever seen.
The cutest piggies in the world!
tri colours black white and brown and fat

A beautiful, docile cream-coloured sow. I think Podge should be cavy of the month because sadly she is now blind. She used to have such lovely hazel eyes! Anyway, Podge hasn't let her blindness get in the way. She's now 2 years old, and she's a fine sow. I love her sooo much, and she should definately be named "cavy of the month"!!!
black funny hungry but sometimes gets nervous
Rainebow is funny, she has rather funny fur, in a grey and white colour, she has red eyes which make her look evil.

cute, fluffy, lovable
A wonderful gay
orange and black
This is my sweet, sweet baby. We got her from the humane society. She came with a female friend name Caramel. But unfortunately, Caramel left us suddenly one day, out of the blue I guess. But, my baby is a very calm and gentle pig, she'll just sit there and eat and look at you. She won't bother you, or bug you, she'll only stare. Unfortuately, I've had Zoey for about 2 years now, and she is still a very frantic pig. Oh well, I love her till death do us part.
Rone patern fur, Black eyes, and black paws.
very cute Peruvian
Rose is a sweet cavy. I just know that all of you people are jealous due to her beauty!!! She just one first place, and BOB or for some people who do not know ANYTHING about showing best of breed!!! Anyway Rose should be the cavy of the month because right after the show she had a vist with the vet he told me the she was pregnant. I could not believe it !!! We watched her pregnancy very close and wrote down what happened each day!! The day she had her babies her belly measured a total of 7 inches and 6 centimeters across!!! I had NEVER seen a pregnant cavy get so HUGE in my whole 6 years of rasing cavies!! when it was what I call "veggie-thirty" or what one of my cavies would say, time for the lady to give us carrots, bell peppers, oranges, and apples thirty!! I noticed that Rose, very unlike a pregnant cavy didn't come out of her over-sized hut to eat her favorite, oranges I took a peek in and saw the first babies head popping out!! Due to that, I started freaking out!! So I called the vet to give me instructions on how to help a cavy in labor. Everything was going fine until she had two trying to come out at the same time!! I called the vet again and told him the whole story! He said to give her the space and wait, which I may add was very hard to watch my poor Rose in such agony!! Finaly, after 10 minutes one of the poped out so I grabbed a shop towel which sould ALWAYS be handy when delivering baby cavies! I grabbed it and started to remove the sac but it was to lat, I rubbrd it to try and start it's little heart back up but it had died. So I had to lay it down and help the others!! The one that was trying to come out at the same time as the other one which died actually lived, due to a tiny hole in his sac right at his nose!! After things settled down I took cavy count. She had six total and five that lived!! They all turned out to be AMERICAN SATIN GOLDE AGOUTIES due to tere dad Dakota who is sayin american golden agouti!! Eventhough their mom is just a normal american!! I thank god every day that they are still alive.

This dutch mixure of cavy's are really special. Whe started with two little brothers, but unfortunatelly after a little more than a year one of them died. The other was really sad. We went out in search for a new friend and most happily we found one, he accepted the new, young little cavy without a problem. At this very moment, six months later, the have become friends. We can't seperate them, or they will wistle loudly.

Bertie was a sweet little guy, who loved cavy yogurt treats, running around in the grass, and watching anything on the television about ancient Rome. Really! He would squeak and squeal and wouldn't stop until we picked him up and let him watch anything about Rome with us (he loved the PBS show "I, Claudius").

Our 3 Piggies have their own personalities for sure. We can only ever get one photo fo the three together as Franklin gets too romantic when he sees the girls! It is a real hoot to do a holiday photo shoot with them! They are great company and entertainment!
I believe he is an Abyssinian cross, but I don't know what with. All I know is that when I let his hair grow it just keeps growing! Spunky Munky is the best pet I've ever had. He's a sweet, independent piggie. For a couple of weeks we shared a cold, and his tiny sniffles and sneezes were the most endearing sounds that pulled at your heartsrings! We made a visit to his vet, and now he is taking a little medicine, and so am I. ;) Our short illnesses made us so much more closer that when I hold him he immediately lays across my chest and under my chin and will just stare up at me with loving eyes... If I don't pet him he will climb down and scoot under my hand so that I will. I recently brought home a new friend, that I also adopted, and they both got along wonderfully from the start. His new best bud's, Beans, picture will be uploaded soon. Spunkers is my beautiful Baby Boy!

Brown and cream cavies. Not sure of the breed. Extremely cute and playful!
Golden Agouti Abyssinian; Solomon was a very special piggy. Sadly he died yesterday during an exploratory operation after becoming extremely ill very suddenly. Soli loved people and other animals. He was also very fond of young cavy pups. One of his favorite things to do was go out and meet new people. The picture is of him dressed in his Halloween costume. He loved every second of going Trick-Or-Treating with my family as we took my 6 year old nephew around. He loved visiting the elementary school and children's sporting events. He was of course the center of attention everywhere he went. He became famous around our small town and his fans were always excited to see him. He is the star of a short series of children's books that I created for my nephew to help him learn to read. People who read them liked them so well I added them to Soli and his family's website. Everyone who met Soli was deeply touched by his angelic and loving spirit. He made friends around the world through his Yahoo! Group and his death has been a devestating loss to those who loved him, many of whom never even met him personally. I purchased Soli from a pet store and in less than a week, he had full blown scurvy. He was so sick he couldn't stand up. Apparently he had been fed rabbit pellets at the pet store (one of the many reasons piggies and bunnies should not be housed together). For almost 2 weeks I nursed him back to health. The second he would call for help I was there to help him stand or get a drink or eat or clean up his messes. He got a bit spoiled I guess and decided he would no longer eat pellets. A few months later he had all the early symptoms of scurvy again. I caught it early and he recovered quickly. He was fed a regular diet of a variety of fresh veggies. As a result he was always very thin. A month ago, he came down with a URI. He took his medicine like the angel he was and once again was snatched from death's clutches. Yesterday morning he was very ill after having recovered quite well from his URI. I rushed him to the vet. He had xrays taken and a swollen and full bladder was discovered. The vet decided he needed an exploratory surgury to find out for sure what was wrong. Because of his age (suspected at least 4 or 5 yrs) and the fact that he was underweight and already ill, Soli didn't survive the surgery. He is buried under my beloved weeping willow, who will mourn for him forever. I am still so devastated. He was the most wonderful cavy I ever met and many others agree. The world won't be the same without him in it. Always loved, never forgotten.

This is Beezer! I got him in January 2000 to take the place of my first Guinea Pig, Waldo. Beezer turned out to be quite a lover! We recently got him a girlfriend, Rikku, and it added years to his life! Beezer loves to sit and watch TV with me and insanely enough I can keep him out for hours at a time without a potty break! Beezer truly is the most unique Guinea I have ever come across and anyone who meets him would see why!
Short haird, dutch, white and brown/red
This is Papa, he didn't have a name when I got him in April 2004, and didn't receive his name until just a month ago, when his wife, "Momma" (as also named a month ago) gave birth to three adorable little babies. Two girls and a boy. I'm a Photographer so I was thrilled, because now I had more models :) Papa has posed for me several times, each time getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera. This last photoshoot got interupted by an important phone call that I had to take, about 15 minutes later when I got back to Papa and the Harvest set that I was photographing him in, he was still there in the exact same spot waiting for me to finnish with him. (he had taken the hat off, however.)
On August, 17th, 2000 Gerenzie was born. My dad was actually the one to discover it. At about 5:30 AM, he came into my mom’s room (where I was also sleeping) and whispered to my mom, “Lucy had a baby and Bongo (another of our pigs) is gone.” Even though I was half asleep, I still heard it. I was much more concerned about Bongo having escaped than Lucy having a baby. I rushed downstairs into the guinea pigs’ room. My eyes automatically darted to the cage where Lucy and Pippi were. There were actually two cages, connected by a tunnel. Underneath the tunnel, was Bongo, huddled up in his pee and poo. It was actually a very easy thing to spot, because nothing was blocking him from view. But for some reason, my dad just doesn’t notice many things. Then I turned my attention to Lucy’s child. On closer examination, I saw that Lucy had actually had two babies; one dead and one alive. I wasn’t too terribly upset that one of the babies was dead and that there was only one baby for two reasons. The first was that the dead baby was completely black and the live baby was brown and white and very pretty. The second reason was that Lucy (who was quite old at the time) was unhurt. Gerenzie often emits loud squeaks like we are killing her (even though we are not). WE ALL LOVE GERENZIE!!!!!!!
A mouse that is black and white
My piggies Bayou (like the Louisiana Bayou) and Ducky are very entertaining. Even my dog Harold thinks so. They are fast little things and love to play tag. They have a Huge cage that I built them using chloroplast and grids and are very spoiled little girls(as you can see by the photo) They don't like sitting still to take photods very much and the zoom on the camera scares them. In this photo I bribed them to stay still with a carrot and placed a hat on top of their heads. I think they look quite lovely! Bayou is more shy and "the boss" of the two. Ducky (the yellow and white one) is more outgoing and thinks her big sis Bayou is the coolest thing since timothy hay.
sorry I'm entering again- That last picture was hideous! The one on the left is Glee- the other is Melba
What can I say? she's gone through so much. Shall I pretend you're keen to know? I wanted somthing furry to hold and love. First it was mice- they bite. Then it was rats- their tails bother my mom. Then hamsters- nocturnal, and they bite.THEN- ferrets- my dad said they're too stinky. Then,my eyes caught a glimse of guinea pigs.I reasearched them for six whole months, and finally received too three month old cavies. We were going to adopt- but stopped at a store to browse. There were just two. females-and they were aquainted so they wouldn't fight! Aquainted? they were like sisters. One was white, with just a hint of grayish tan on her left side. The other was gingerish cinnamon. It took three days to decide their names. The white one, Melba ,(a breed we never could determine.) and the other, Glee-(she was always happy- and she was the tamest of the two. Sadly, after three months, Melba was taken to the clouds above.A dog- sweet and lonely- found its way into our yard. Instead of ignoring it, I played with it instead of finishing the guinea pig's cleaning of the cage.Until, of couse, the dog found the guinea pig hutch where they stay while I clean the cage. The dog circled the cage, then began to push it.I feared the cage would topple over, and the dog would recieve the poor dears. So I quickly fixed the hut/box in their cage and lifted one end of the cage care fully- not carefully enough, as it turned out. I heard a yelp behind me, and apon turning around, saw the dog hurry off. Melba was gone.I chased after the dog in desperation, my own, faithful, obediant ,never-do-that-sort-of-thing dog, chased it with me. But It was gone too. I screamed and cried hysterically. The neighbors came rushing out to see what had occurred. They searched , but found no dog of my description. Finally, guilt-ridden and tired i returned home, hoping to find the dog witha still alive, but scared Melba. I found no such thing. A neighbor came to our house, saying he had found the dog in his yard with something in its mouth. You can surely guess what. The neighbor retreived her in a garbage bag.we buried her that night. I picked up Glee, petting her and telling her that I hadn't meant to- that it was okay. But it wasn't. For days Glee looked for Melba, And for days, I could be found, picking off the Melba -hairs off my jacket and into a plastic bag. If I felt too lonely, I would hold the bag-stupid I know, but...any way, After wards, Glee was very lonely. She chittered less, and chirped almost never now. That's where my teacher came in.She saw a picture of my guinea pigs, and I found out her daughter lost a cavy by the almost same way ; dog.her daughter rarely picked up the poor remaining cavy , so they agreed to allow me to keep her- they both wouldn't be as lonely as before. Then, they fought, and we thought it would never end.It took a while, but now they get along pretty well- but there are times when they quarrel in a harmless manner.back to the point , they got along and every thing was fine- until we went to France- about a week after we got back , Glee Became sick . She started having intestinal spasms an dunrinal bleeding. After this occuring for two days, we noticed she had stopped eating. Apon checking her, we found a dry 'bean' stuck where it oughtn't to be.Well- we took her to the vet early the next day, and in the waiting room, i really thought she was going to die. I had thought she was too sick to lick my finger, but she did it, anyway. I thought it was the last 'kiss' of her life.Gosh, we saw the doctor, they did x-rays, and found she had bladder stones, which had caused a build up and constipation. 14 days of medicine did the trick ,I breathed once more.I think the newer guinea pig received by my teacher, Cocoa did too.Well, Now she's still safe, (and licking.I've actually trained her to lick when I say ,"Can I have a kissie?Can-Thank you!") stupid, I kow, but she does do it, so its incredibly cute. I hope I haven't bored you to death. I've read most of the cavies posted here, And Glee hasn't been through as Goobber has, but she's still has been. I really hope it's enough to get her a cavy of the month. If not- I don't know what else is... But thanks for your time. Hey! E-mail me ! I love to chat about Guinea pigs!i know it's annoying when someone sends more than one , but I might- because this picture makes me look fat- and I'm not-(I hope). i have one of Glee and Melba and one of Glee and Cocoa.

My little lucy is so cute!!. she is a kind of brown colour and shes speckled with darker brown. She has beutiful big brown eyes and she loves her roomate mariah. even though she shares the cage with mariahs little dughter. i had 2 guniea pis before i got lucy, but sadly they passed on in a huge heatwave. my dad took me to look at bird averies( i'm an animal person!!) and i saw the guniea pigs. after five minutes pleading with dad he agreed. i saw a fluffy one i liked but my dad was like get one that actually looks like a guniea pig ( he's not really a fan of them), he picked up lucy and said she was the most decent one out of all 8 pigs. he put her in my hands and i fell in love!. A month after i got her she wasn't eating much mum said she might be lonly so mum took me to this old ladys house. she had a million guniea pigs and she had these two in a cage. she gave me the female and mum was like are you sure shes not pregnant??.. a month or so later she had babies.lucy was so happy shes a great aunt to mariahs babies. mum was right she was lonly. my lucy loves being held and she is always trying to get my attention. I love her ever since i got her my depression has been getting heaps better. I LOVE HER SO MUCH
Eddie is the younger of the two cousins. (by cousins i mean his rabbit cousin) Wherever the rabbit goes eddie is sure to follow he hates being seperated and looks for kipper (rabbit) for protection. He's a little fattie and whenever we feed him apples he grabs the apple and runs to his igloo so noone can steal the apple slice away from him.
Long hair neutered male
I was walking in town one day and the pet store caught my eye. i stepped inside just to have a look around. I looked over at the guinea pig cage and saw the prettiest long-haired piggy! Later that day I begged and begged my mom to get my my own little pet like a hamster or guinea pig. She told me that it was not the right time to bring a new pet into the house. I was very disappointed, but I never gave up. I continued to beg my mom for a little pet, and she considered it for awhile. So I was getting desperate for a little buddy when my 10th birthday came around. One night we were watching the news when an exclusive story came on. It just so happened to be about guinea pigs that were abandoned on the side of the road. Of course these piggies needed a home, and I was destined to own one. So my mom and I went to check it out. I spotted the most adorable pig in a cage with like ten others. The shelter told us that it was a female but claimed that she was not pregnant....boy were they wrong! I took my little pig home and a few weeks later she had six babies! My mom noticed that one of the babies came out prematured. Six babies was hard work, but Saidey managed to take care of all of them. later I had to depart with the little pigs when they were old enough. I was upset about giving them away. All of the pigs were taken until I had just my little premy left. It seemed that no one wanted her. I begged my mom to keep one of the babies, so I kept her and gave her lots of love. My piggies saidey and "Premy" as she came to be known as lived happy lives indoor. But one day Saidey fell sick. I hugged her and tooked care of her, but eventually she had to go. Premy is my pride and joy, and I try to comfort her so that she does not miss her mother too much, and I will continue to love her forever.

The Strawbery blond cavy on the right has brightend up her friend flossy's life on the left. Who was giving up on life after all her friends died. I was determind i wasn't going to get another Cavy as i had lost four within a week some that i had for years it was too much heart break. I felt sorry for Flossy it was like she didn't want to live she stopped eating and didn't show any interest in anything. I seen Toffee and could not resist her. Flossy got her sparkle back as soon as she seen Toffee. Toffee now runs around daft trying to jump off my couch ( which i have really got to watch). She loves to run on my shoulder, where she tend to try to give me a hair cut. She is such a sweet beautifull Cavy and has saved Flossy's life. I love her dearly and am so proud of her.

Ginger abyssinian cross. Born 12th September 1997, died 13th December 2003. He was the naughtiest and most lovable guinea anyone could have the pleasure of spending time with. I knew him his whole life as I first held him when he was only a week old, as he belonged to my friend. He charmed everyone he met, and everyone cried the night he died. His best friend Lammie misses him too. He had many adventures and enjoyed life up until the day he died. He was always off on adventures as soon as I opened the hutch door. He would waddle out, a little thinner and wobblier in his old age but no less handsome, and have a good explore. It was very hard to put him back in the hutch and that is saying something for a guineapig! I loved him very much, and though I love all my pigs, he was somehow special. I can still see him now, wandering through the tall grass in his run, coming to investigate everyone who walked past, like a little lion, as he was often called. He was the most gentle and loving pig, and though not your average pedigree piggie, he was a hundred of times better! He had so much character, and never stopped surprising me. I'm sorry I didn't have more time with him, but am so grateful to have had him. He taught me more about pigs than any book could ever do. It is strange without him now, chewing at the wire on his door to come and play, and the shed is too quiet. Nothing could ever replace him, but I am hoping that I will find a pig like him again, though I doubt it.....he was one in a million.
Joyce (Ginger & White) & Michelle (Brown & White), are two lovely guinea-pigs with unique personallities. Joyce is very placid, whilst Michelle is a lunatic and doesn't really like people it seems! Their favourite hobbies include eating, sleeping and urinating at inappropriate times. Their favourite treat is grass fresh from the garden, and they can be heard singing with excitement when they hear the keys to the back-door! Lving in London these two sophisticated chicks, really make the most of city life!

Felix is a long-haired mix breed. He is 3 1/2 years old and still as healthy as...well...a pig! He lives in a cage near the kitchen, which he really enjoys. He squeaks whenever the fridge door opens and squeaks especially loud whenever I bring out any of his favourite treats, brocolli, watermelon, orange, grapes, etc. Felix is also a very sociable animal. He'll settle down to eat whenever the family is eating, and he thinks the cat is his friend - he doesn't quite understand why he's not allowed to play with her! Felix is also an indoor G.P. This is for his safety and health, since we live near a wooded area which has a lot of hawks, and domestic cats running around. The neighbours also like to spray their lawns with chemicals so our lawn isn't much good to eat or play on. But Felix has lots of fun indoors, running around the family room or in his "pig pen." Felix is my 11th G.P. I've been keeping them since I was 10, and I'm now in my late 20s - I just can't seem to give them up!!
Long-haired mix-breed. Felix was born in July, 2000 - he' 3 1/2 years old. Favourite foods: watermelon, brocolli.
Cavy from Germany
Patch is a tortoiseshell and white adorable piggy ....she is nearly 2 years old and her fave hobbies are eating and sleeping:) she loves to squeak when she hears the fridge door open for her tasty treats.....Though she can be timid she is certainly not shy about getting her voice across....last year when my mum took her to the vet for a regular check up..she squealed the place down like a pig that the whole surgery could hear her lol...apparently the receptionist had to keep a straight face hehe...Patch is the first guinea pig i have owned and i believe once you own a piggy they melt your heart....

Orville is a cream colored Skinny gene carrier. He has a brother, Wilbur, who is a self red Skinny. They live together in a cage next to JoJo a Dutch texel. They both love her and the courting is never ending. Orville was born on October 30, 2003. He is a bit shy yet but as loveable as can be. He hope one day that he and his brother Wilbur can fly a plane!
He's 1 year old, can climb the stairs, has his own site and has been submitted into so much competitions that he's won! He's absolutely gorgeous! He's furry all over and so cute. Also, I took him outside alot for training, and he's absolutely really fast!

Wilbur is a two month old self red skinny guinea pig. He lives with his brother Orville, who is a cream short hair that is a skinny gene carrier. They both love when a large pile of hay is placed in their cage. They run under and through the hay eating their way out. Wilbur loves to be next to Orville. Maybe Orville's fur helps keep them both warm. Wilbur loves to sleep in his tent and announces to all the rest of our 13 piggies whenever the refrigerator door opens! Although he is our only skinny he just blends in with all of his adopted brothers and sisters.
Odin is a very good, lovable pig. He is very quiet and well tempered. He is about 7-8 months old and loves to give his momma and daddy kisses on the hand. He also loves to look at and watch his niece and nephews while mom is supervising of course.
This "little" TS&W furball came to me two years ago at a really rough time in my life. It had been two years since I had my last guinea pig, and my Dad thought another one might bring some cheer into my life. He was right. While timid at first, Scout began to realize that I wasn't just some weirdo who wanted to hold her all the time. I was the source of the dandelions. You see, Scout can attribute some of her..uh, "roundness" to the fact that she is totally addicted to these greens. If it was up to her, Scout would totally forgo the hay and pellets and plunge into a mound of dandelions. Of course, that's not all she's about. Well, most;y, but she does give me kisses and likes to cuddle in my neck now. I'm not sure if she does this in order to receive more of the green goods. But, hey, I can take what I can get. I could go on and on about what a cute ball of fur Scout is...right after I get her some more dandelions, though!! I'm coming Scout!

Peruvian Silkie
Midnight is our 6 month old Crested Guaragouti. He can be described as lovable, considering I've never met anyone who doesn't fall in love with him the minute they set eyes on him.He likes to act like he's the one in charge.Even my grandparent's dog whined when we put him back in his cage.
Snowball is one of our newest rescue babies. She and her sister were born in July 2003. They are a joy to have in our family of 13. She is a very active cavy and both Snowball and her sister, Rocky, keep Oreo on the go. Oreo needed some exercise and she gets it with the 2 new babies. We think Snowball is in training to be Oreo's assistant!
Lyle was my first piggy ever. i got him free from a piggy rescue. from the very first moment i held that silky ball of hair in my arms, i knew he was mine! i simply fell in love. although i loved all my piggies, Lyle was my secret favorite. Even though he was the only boy in my little herd, i still called him my little princess - he was just THAT pretty! He passed away this summer, and i still miss him every day. The little pig that started it all...
Danny is a silver agouti Rex, I escued him from a young girl who was suffering with depression and sadley, found no time to look after him. He has won a few places at my local cavy show and is now living with three of his beautifull sons! He is now 3 years old and enjoying a comfortable life with his playfull sons.
He is a white/cream mix American Satin. He loves squeaking for food... especially carrots. He lost his best buddy, Abbi, in January 2003. They had a lot of fun together and I wanted to nominate him after all he's been through.
We adopted Einstein from the Critter Corral Guinea Pig Rescue. He was one of many confiscated from a carnival where they were giving them as prizes! His name when we got him was Snowcone but we wanted to erse all of his bad past and well he has a nose, hair and face of Albert Einstein.
Skylar is almost 2 years old. We bought here from Petco for 25 dollars. My wife and I were getting fish food when I walked to to look at the pigs and I saw her. I put my nose to the glass and she did the same to me. It was then I knew she was coming home right away. She is spoiled as they come. May be more. She is considered a daughter by my wife and I, and my parents consider her a grand-daughter. She loves salad and being on the bed. But mostly she enjoys being in her igloo.
Odin is the sweetest pig I think I have. He is very acctive and loves to run around and make a huge mess throwing his pine chips on the floor. He loves to give momma kisses and love to cuddle up with his daddy.
She is a Tri-colored pig that I got from friends of mine that moved away. She is very sweet and very gental. Holding her is always one of my favorite things to do. She loves to give her mommy kisses. She also love her veggies and is very danty while eating them.
For my birthday three years ago, my friend wanted to get me a really great gift. She had seen Oreo at our local SPCA and he had been sitting there for a few weeks with no friends. So, Oreo came to live with me and my late pig, Marbles. He had hair mats and was pretty depressed when I got him, but after letting him and Marbles get acquainted, he blossomed into a wonderful gentleman. He is six years old now, and has only ripened with age. He has his share of problems, one of them being his heritage. I'd like to say that he is a purebred Peruvian, but he lacks a few of the characteristics. My teacher, who has some piggies, has commented that he looks like a cross between Peruvian and Abbysinian. Either way, he is a very caring friend. I adopted a young piggie from the SPCA, and Oreo is like his older brother. He has taught me much about love and acceptance, and individuality. If you met him, you would agree. I was tempted to buy him a little bow tie and take him to my Senior prom as my date!
this is Audrey, one of the best mum piggies! realllly gentle with her bubs. Reaally silly pig, and has the best " begging" face.. which you cant pass.
Silver and Brown Rescued Sweetheart. He is a very loving, attention seeking gentleman. He is approximately 8 months old.
Snowball is a loveable little girl who knows how to win hearts. She loves to give piggie kisses and cuddle right up to your chin. If you pick her put watch out or she will get you under her spell.
Harriet is a spoiled little girl who knows how to get the proper attention. She loves to go for rides and visit people. She like to cuddle and be held my her cavy slaves at least 4 times a day. SHe is the queen of the castle you could say.
Stormy is at least part peruvian. He looks like a different cavy on each side - black face on the left and tiger striped on the right. I bought him for $3 at an exotic animal auction where I had gone to sell chickens. He was a skinny little thing in an icecream bucket. I've learned everything I know about cavies from Stormy (and CG!). He is an individual with his own moods, likes and dislikes. He has taught me to be a slave in an amazingly short period of time. A couch potato and cuddler, Stormy is the perfect buddy for me.
Stubborn little man, but cute as can be! He's Black with white eyebrows and little brown markings here and there. He loves to eat, squeeks when he hears the fridge open. He thinks everything is for him.
Kermie is a boar, he's very pretty browns and white in color, he tends to hide alot, still getting used to us, but a friendly little guy!
Piggy is a sow, white with brown around her eyes, very friendly, and loves attention!
Cleo is a friend to all even though she is very small.
6 month old himalayen sow that i bought from a breeder. she is very bossy but love to have cuddles.
Female, 2 1/2 months old peruvian that I bought from a pet store because the store employee wanted to breed her. A very skittish piggie but she is beginning to warm up to her new home.
Squeakers is a shelter piggie I adopted a few months back. I had seen her on the local Humane Society’s website for months and it seemed nobody wanted her. I already had two other guinea pigs at home and wasn’t sure I had room for a third. Then unexpectedly, I lost my female, Lucile- most likely to old age (she was six). Although I was grieving over her loss, my boyfriend encouraged me to at least visit the shelter to see Squeakers. After much debate, I finally went and of course fell in love. Squeakers is a very shy, timid girl, but every day she becomes a little more social. She loves to snuggle in her “pig towel” and is a huge lettuce fan. So much so, that she comes running out of her hiding spot, bouncing and squeaking, leaving the shy little shelter piggie behind.
beautiful buzz nuggles up to u when you get him out of his cage. when you place him on your lap.. he jumps up to give you a hug. i love him so much.
Speedy and Roady are rare tortoise shell guinea pigs and speedy is the very tiny cavy on the left and roady is the other cavy. Roady is possibly pregnant from Speedy, and Lisa (roady's onwer) and I can't wait until she has the babies.
mom and baby that overcame huge problems and two deaths (a brother and a sisterto be true survivors
sweet, loving, and adorable
Bumper is a very special pig. He was "born" to Buck, my first pig, that went to the Rainbow Bridge in March of 2003, and Thumper, Albinocavies pig that went to the Rainbow Bridge in February of 2003. We knew that they decided to go together, and knew we would find their babies someday. Bumper is black, brown, and white. He looks alot like his daddy, with a bit of the white, (and his nose) from his mommy. He also has "Grama AC's" personality...sweet, lovable, and a little pistol! His favorite pastime is popcorning, running around his cage, and being lazy. His favorite veggies are Green leaf and romaine lettuce, celery, and he loves Watermelon too! Bumper was born around May 9th, and that has been his "designated" birthday. He's a very well loved pig, and his brothers Bob and Bailey have taken to him well!
Abasynian mix
Squeaks is the runt and only survivor of his litter. He was born to Jewels. Squeaks loves his chin and butt rubbed. He actually has a ticklish spot right by his left nipple!

Rusty is my Red aby boy who sadly passed away a year ago now. He was such a LADY (SOW) charmer. We found him in our garden. He been let loose. He had gotten himself burried under some snow. He was very lucky. Rusty loved to play games and run around outside eating grass all day long. Rusty was a very sweet boy!

My lovely chubby ball of fluff. She's a 3 1/2 month old Silkie who could worm her way into anyone's heart. She's a real darling and is even more loving now since the passing of her best friend Kaia who she used to love to drive bonkers. Now Mea can be found driving mommy crazy with her silly antics!
Tiggie is a six year old cavy. He was born 6th August, 1997. He has fathered four litters and produced 3 himi boars. He is an affectionate boar who loves the be cuddled. His favourite food is watermelon. He loves floor time and going outside in the back yard but his favourite pastime is chasing the girls around the lounge room floor.

Sunny is a singer. She likes to 'sing' when she hears us coming near her cage. She's also a snuggler that will get all comfy near our necks, then procede to pull on our clothes. She does the most un-graceful popcorning that I have ever seen, and has even done a flip! Her favorite toy is a paper bag which she will roll over in.
Golden Agouti, Red and White Broken American
Obie is my only piggy. He seems like an independent pig. He's over a year old and loves to eat. After his buddy Nokturnal died, he adjusted well and showed his Mommy he is going to be okay. A very strong piggy and doesn't give his Mommy any problems. =)
Buddy is a lucky pig also! with his new CnC cage, hay, and guinea pig pellets and veggies, he is one HAPPY pigger! as you can see, he love his dump truck! he is golden agouti, with two rossettes! he came to live with me on may 15th 03
These two piggies are new and only about 6 weeks old. When I first got them, they were sooo terrified of their new place and neither of them would let me pick them up. I had such a hard time with them and they are still adjusting! Hallie and Annie let me pick them up now but I think they still get a bit scared. They love parsley and whenever I come in the room for feeding time, they smell the parsley right away and they start sniffing in the air to see where the smell is coming from. Whenever I put in a new pile of hay, Annie barrels at it and digs a hole in it which is really cute! I love my new piggies VERY much!
3rd try's a charm! =)
Another try at attaching her picture!
Rio is a very lucky pig. She was almost put down in a California shelter for being a 'lethal white' when I heard about her. She's been living with me since July of 2002, and is thriving with just a minimal amount of 'extra' care. She LOVES peaches and grapes. Since she is blind, she has her very own 'seeing eye pig' that lives with her and helps her find her way around the cage.
Madame is an American Broken Red-Eyed Orange, Lilac, and White (or rainbow cavy). She is a Grand Champion Sow and has won MANY awards. Patv has allowed my son to adopt Madame when she was 3 years old. Madame is quite "large" and is now retired from the show ring. She is a very loving and patient sow and enjoys tending to little babies!
Ashleigh is an American PEW (Pink Eyed White). I purchased her from a local Petco. She weighed less 300 grams and had just been placed in an aquarium with a VERY large boar. Ashleigh has issues and doesn't like being held by anybody other than a close family member...unless her "mommy" is standing close by. When she stresses, she breaks out in mites. I have learned that treating her proactively for mites is the best way!
Miss Fudge is an American Satin Dilute Agouti. She was born to Ashleigh on September 10, 2001...just 1 day before the grandeur of the WTC ended. Her brother is Shadow and her sister is Vanilla. She is feisty and strong willed...but absolutely beautiful.
Daisy is a nine month old tri-coloured cavy. She has a sweet disposition and is very friendly. She loves to be scratched under her chin.
Chloe is aprox. 5 months old, I got from the Hspca. She was only a baby herself when we brought her home and surprise surprise I come home from vacation and there is TWO little bubs running around in the cage. Chloe is a very good Mom and she is one of my Most Affectionate Pigs. She loves to give kisses and she LOVES to cuddle for hours right under your chin. Her babies names are Hubble and Bernie, both boys!! Hubble is now over a month old. He is a definite LAP pig. He loves to lay in the crook of my legs and loves his CHIN rubbed.
Yoshi is a 14 month old white Abyssinian boar with a chocolate face. His name means Happiness in Japanese and it fits him very well. He squeals when we call his name and when someone opens the vegetable bin in the refrigerator. Yoshi's favorite foods are romaine lettuce, carrot nibbles, grapes, watermelon, and of course parsley. Aside from 4 humans, Yoshi shares our house with a parakeet and 2 hamsters. He doesn't have too much to do with the hamsters, but has bonded with Tweety the parakeet. Yoshi and Tweety are known to share a sprig of parsley once a day. Tweety also flys over to Yoshi's cage at lease 3 times a day and sings to him. Yoshi's favorite time of day is the evening. Everyday around 6PM he starts popcorning in his cage because he knows he will come out in his playpen in the living room soon. When he first goes in his playpen Yoshi waits for his salad. Then for the next 4 hours he runs around and plays with his toys and tubes. He loves to run through, hide in, and chew his tubes. When we make special mazes with the tubes, Yoshi slowly goes through and when he makes it through he popcorns to tell us how excited he is he did it. We love Yoshi very, very much!!!
Lavender is the most gentle and kind piggie I have ever known. She always steps in to stop my other two from rowing, even if she ends up in the firing line herself! After about 8 weeks of me having her I discovered that she was heavily pregnant, and I was of course a little worried as she was only very young still herself. But I needn't worry, on the 10th of July this year (2003) she gave birth to the most beautiful little boy there ever was. I have since called him Patch. She is the most attentative mother, and genuinely adores here little boy, and always puts the others before herself, except when there is cucumber about!!!

tallulah is my 5 mo old piggie, she loves to cuddle up under my chin and fall to sleep. i got her because someone dumped her and her 4 siblings on my doorstep. she is a red and white abyssinian x sow. when we found tallulah she was quite poorly and had an abcess on her cheek which had to be lanced by the vet and then i had to clean the wound which she hated but she has come through it all and is now a very happy little girl who i love to pieces
Patches is my 16 mo. old baby doll. She's so very soft and loves everyone! She does not understand the concept of sitting still, she loves to exercise! Patches is a solid 2 and a half pounds and will wheek for the crumpling of any plastic bag. She's the sweetest, softest, and happiest pig!
Phoeby is a very adorable 9 month old guinea pig, she was named after "Phobie" from the t.v show "Friends" because in the show "Phobie" sings a song about guinea pigs. She has dark brown hair and golden orange streaks. She is very lovable! she loves to be cuddled and cared for, she even gives me kisses! Her favorite food is dandilion leaves. She never ever bites anyone. When ever I come back from somewhere she always greets me with a loud squeak, and then I hold her. She knows that it is me because she knows my smell.I got phoeby from a friend of mine and when I saw her I knew she was the one!!! She loved being cuddled up next to her mother. phoeby is the best guinea pig anyone could ever have!!!!!
Jemima is a small black, brown and ginger sow. She's had two baby boys, and they still live with her, and their father Mortimer. She gave birth to four babies but two of them were stillborn. She is shy, sweet and loving. She takes care of the others and likes lazing around in the sun. She's had to look after her "husband" Mortimer a lot recently as he had a URI, but he's a lot happier now. Jemima was named after Jemima Puddle-duck because she squeaked like a little duckling. She was our first ever guinea pig and we now have five.
Riley is a tri-colored Silkie beautiful male! I got him from cavy barn with so many guinea pigs he did not get the attention he needed. When I got there he was in a box with at least five other males. Riley was under all of them, so I shooed the ones on top of him away. I felt so sorry for him when I saw what all the guinea pigs did to him. You could see his bones, he was bit on both ears and was bleeding. He was the smallest one there, the runt . I made my decision, I was going to take him. I wrapped him up in a towel and carried him out to the car.He soon responded with squeaks of delight to lettuce and and other veggies. I don't have any regrets on taking this wonderful pig. Riley turned out to be a healthy one year old boy and the only pig I currently serve. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for him!
Chocolate brown, with caramel whiffs. The most handsome boy!
Abyssinian,Very cute!!
Cocoa is a ver cute little guy who loves his treats.

We got him from a daycare center where he and his friend were being mistreated.
Mix short/long hair shiny coat
He was a huge pig at 3.5 lbs before he had problem with his teeth. He lost so much weight from not eating. The vet trimmed his back molars and with 3 weeks of chopping all his vegies and syringe feedings, he is beginning to look like his old self and eats everything in sight. We are so lucky we have him. He seems to know he was sick and has recovered - he is very socialble now.
she is a black and white guinea pig with a little strip of brown on her head and a patch on her butt, she is a joy to have and she is just so precious
Nibbles is a brown and white guinea pig with a cute little stripe. Cocoa is a comepletley brown guinea pig with creepy red eyes

**(this is an oops because i didn't enter a proper desc. the first time)** Scruff is a real survivor! She was "returned" to the petstore where she was purchased, half starved, matted, and with curly nails. The store policy was not to accept returns, but the man who brought her in told the poor girl that Scruff would be let "free" in a field if she didn't take her. So, the store girl took her, placed her in a cardboard box, and hid her in a back room until the end of her shift. Luckily for Scruffy, I came along to the store that day for food, and the girl way-laid me. Scruff's cute little face was all I needed, and I tucked her into my coat and brought her home. She's now fat, happy and beautiful (although she recently fought off a nasty URI, she didn't even lose an ounce). She is my little sweetheart lap pig.

Sammy made his dramatic entrance on March 6th at 915am. He is a true survivor! He is the only baby of three that survived. Annalee (a survivor and fighter herself) had a very hard time dilivering her brood. The two who did not make it were just too big (over 5 ounces each). After delivery Annalee started to bleed a lot. I called the vet and brought her in. (she was almost lifeless) I didn't think she would make it but she fought very hard. She had retained two of the placentas, tore really bad, and almost bled to death! The baby (Sammy) tried to nurse but Annalee was just too weak and could not take care of her baby. I fed him for his first 24 hours and by the next day Annalee (who was still very sick)had just enough strength to take over and feed her baby. As you can see this is a story of not just survival, but the strength to keep going even when there seems to be little hope. Since Easter is a celabration of survival,I thought this would be the perfect month to show off my Survivors! Thank you!!! LISA
Momma is a rosette, Piglet is smooth haired Piglet is momma's baby momma is around three years old and piglet around two I adopted them from a friend last July and I love them so much they are very sweet and loving!
Bim is a 2 and 1/2 year old boar. He is cage mate to my other boar, Jasper and has mated with my pregnant 6 month old sow, Piper. Bim loves attention and softly squks when you pet him. All of my piggies are like squeky toys becuse when you pet them they squek and when you aren't they hardly ever do. I care for Bim very much and we have created a strong bond together. I can't wait to see his babies.
Patches and Peanut just celebrated their one year old birthday March 1st. If there are not screaming (literally) for attention, peeing on my bed, throwing their food bowl and litterbox around for fun, then they goto the vet! If there quiet and not reeking havoc, someone's not feeling good. They never learned the conecept of being quiet!! They are extremely mischevious and love to show off in front of people. They are the fuzziest fur babies ever! Peanuts is ususally a little lazy while Patches finds great pleasure in constantly bugging her. They biccer now and then but when no one's looking, there sleeping side by side. The picture I am sending in is funny because Patches is behind Peanut sniffing the air and Peanut has this funny look on her face like "it wasn't me!" There partners in crime those two, I love them to death!
Bonnie is a nearly two-year old Dutch American that I met while browsing in a pet store one day. I knew nothing at all about guinea pigs but was intrigued by her beauty, so I picked her up and held her for a long time. She was extremely gentle, quiet, and sweet. I knew I could not leave the petstore without her. After a lengthy (and heated) discussion with my husband, I convinced him that we needed guinea pigs for our children. I took her home along with a boar named we named Clyde (now neutered). After a few days in our home, I noticed that Bonnie's breathing had a clicking sound to it and knew this couldn't be normal. A trip to the vet confirmed the worst--she had pneumonia! The vet gave him an antibiotic and little hope that she'd make it. At home, I faithfully gave her the medicine and carefully fed her. She pulled through with flying colors! Then, a few weeks later, I walked into the room where her cage was and was horrified to find a large, bloody scab by her eye. I had no idea what this was, but knew that another trip to the vet was in order. He diagnosed her with mites and treated her and Clyde with a series of Ivermectin shots. Bonnie has given birth to one litter of pups, two beautiful sows. She and Clyde now live together happily (and fixed). Bonnie LOVES to eat and loves to lie about never getting fed! She enjoys being held, is very sweet and sedate and she loves to have her ears rubbed. No one could ask for a nicer guinea pig in the world--or a prettier one!

LP's babies, born 2-21-03, they are in the St Patrick's day spirit
This is Coconut. She is an abby american mix, and she's very cute. She has black on her rump, and peach around her eyes. Whe say she put on mascara and then cried because she's got thes little black marks below her eyes. The reason Coconut's so speicial to me is becaus we got her as an adult. We got her at about eight months, and she was probably in the back of the pet store for about three months. We know she had been in the pet store all that time was because they knew her birthday. Even though she lived in the pet store all her life until last April, she couldn't have been in better hands. The pet store we got her from takes very good care of their pets. But even a good pet store can't give all their attention to one rejected little cavy. Coconut is not an ugly guinea pig, and Rienemans (where we got her) is not a bad pet store. Nonetheless no one wanted poor Coconut. If it were not for me last April, Coconut would never had found a good home. Now she lives in a ten-square-foot cage, gets fresh food twice a day, and is freqently handled.
Bosley is a tri coloured aby. He is about 7 months old. His favourte foods are carrots with the tops(if they dont have tops forget it.), cucumber, apples, cilantro, tomatos, parsley, timothy hay, alfalfa cubes, and of course his pellets. You may be thinking "God how much does this pig weigh?" well he weighs about 4 pounds, hey hes healthy. Bosley is so very odd he likes his bath!!(I dont blame him lol.) Every day as soon as I get home from school he has the run of the house untill supper time, he is fully litter trianed. Some of his favourite activites include the run of house, surfing the net with me, cuddling with me, go outside on warm summer days, bathing, and well eating. Bosley cannot stand my mom, well he absolutely hates my mom. When ever my mom holds Bosley he pees on her, I don't know why lol. Bosley is a very talkitive pig he just wont shut up when I hold he he grugles away and gives me little "kisses" on my cheeks and fingers. Bosley has a 10square foot cage, i made it out of the cubes and coroplast. All of my friends think he is spoiled rotten but I don't think so, I'm always buying him more toys and a treat of some kind but hey hes like my kid. If I could give him all of the carrots with tops in the world I would.
Lamsey is quite the little ham. He must have been a model in a past life as he loves to pose for pictures. He also has to be the center of attention. The minute anyone walks in the front door (srtangers included) his fuzzy little head and big brown eyes instantly appear over the edge of his house. This of couse is followed by happy squeeking and cooing. People can't believe how social he is! He won't let anyone walk by without at least a hello or a rub on the nose. Lamsey prides himself on making everyone a guinea pig lover. I get a lot of strange looks from people when I tell them I have guinea pigs, but when they meet Lamsey they understand why.
You could say she's not an ordinary pigglet, I've been able to teach her the English language! Yes, it's possible if their still babies. How I found out. First of all, I talk to Chi Chi in a certain voice, it's hard to explain, but if you look at a guinea pig, the way their lips are kinda together, you can picture the way they would sound if they talk. Plus of their small size. Chi is a multi-colored mixed guinea pig. Her favorite food is Celery and Oranges.....and Reeses peanut butter cups. (of course I don't feed them to her, she would love to get her little paws on one) Her foavorite music, Enya(she loves Enya), classical, any of The Lord of the Rings' soundtracks, and others. Her favorite book, How to Get Whatever You Want. (of course that's made up). Let me tell you how i know she can speak english. One day, this was around Christmas, she was always chewing on this wreath, I have on her cage, and she would always be rippng at it. Well, I couldn't take it anymore, I saw her coming a hair to biting at it, and said: "Chi Chi(in that voice I use) now you better not rip at that thing." You wouldn't believe it! She walked right away. There's othere stories, but no time. Oh yeah, she's in her terrible 2's right now, and it's terrible!!!!
This is Lucy...She is 5 and loves carrots and romaine lettuce. She is currently living with Zoe and does not care for it too much. She loves to be held and cuddled! She is the most beautiful pig in the world...IMO...
Zoe is one beautiful black pig! She is about 1 year old and is currently living with Lucy, Zoe tries her hardest to be best friends with her...with no luck. She will eat anything that comes her way! She is my lucky pig...for when I bought her, she was very ill. The Vet did not think she would make it! Well guess what? She did!!!

Charlie is my big boo-boo boy! He's a saffron short hair, weighing in at a hefty 3lb and 9ozs at just over a year old. He's the most boisterous of my pigs, very noisy and unbelievably silly. He likes to live alone but be housed close to his ex-friend's house, Pickle. It's the only time they get on and he likes it that way! He loves kisses, being kooched all over his hair and he's definately his mummy's boy - very 'typically' blonde too! But i love him, he's our big boy!
American Satin Pink Eyed White (PEW): Jasmine is a precious little lady that I rescued from a kill shelter on 06-20-2002. She was scheduled to be euthanized and was virtually a skeleton with fur. Jasmine quickly learned that food is REALLY good and has become such a little doll. She enjoys giving kisses and is quite happy to cuddle with anybody for hours. I love her so much.
Maizie is a chocolate female. She is just the sweetest girl ever, as whenever we take her out of her cage she sits on our chests and licks our chins. She is very active and loves to run around. She squeaks for treats all the time and even gets on her hind legs to get at them! She is almost 3 years old and had a litter of 5 adorable babies 2 years ago! She was a great mommy, taking the time to allow all her babies to get milk and was fiercely protective of them if we tried to give them hugs and kisses. She is such a good mommy that whenver she is out of her cage, her daughter Rosco follows her around everywhere! Maizie is super soft and just adorable. We love our mommy girl!

Ginger has very long hair....and like most girls has her "bad hair days". She was given to me last Christmas by my 2 little nephews who picked her out especially for me:) Ginger had a rough few months in the beginning, she only has one ear, I guess her mommy ate it at birth, so the vet told me..but she is still very beautiful. After bringing Ginger home from the pet store, I had the "most wonderful" experience of noticing LICE!! Poor Ginger scratching and jumping around like a nut. I called around to different vets and was told it would be okay to give her a lice treatment shampoo.. so as instructed by the vet i treated Ginger 3 times within 2 weeks when suddenly I noticed Ginger wasn't feeling very well:( Diarrhea, loss of appetite and very lethargic... I was so upset and sad for her. The next morning I brought her to the vet and started her on a special critical care diet...feeding poor little Ginger through a 5cc syringe 5 times a day and giving her special medicine. Thankfully after 3 days Ginger started getting back to her good health, and has been doing great since..I highly recommend never giving small animals any kind of toxins..even following instructions properly can still harm our little creatures. Ginger is such a joy to have around she is the cutest little thing... runs around like a little ball of hair..(she's my little cousin IT)
Maddie is a red-white broken Abysinnian. She was adopted from Cavy Spirit Guinea Pig Rescue to be a cagemate to one of my neutered boars, Max. Maddie is a snuggle pig. She loves to curl up under my chin and then sprawl out. Maddie also stands up on her back feet to wheek for her veggies. She has a lot of personality and she is a very sweet pig.
Why-oh-why does my mommy do these things to me?? Max is a tri-Roan Abysinnian
Molly is a DEW (dark-eyed white) American sow and Milo is a neutered American boar with a red eye patch and a black stripe across his back. They were my Christmas present last year from my husband and kids. They surprised me Christmas morning with a huge bag of CareFresh and a stuffed guinea pig in a box the kids had decorated with drawings of guinea pigs. A few days later (on Dec. 29th) we adopted Molly & Milo from a local animal shelter.

Bosley has a 4 square foot cage, I think its to small so **SOON** I'm going to make him a 10.5 square foot cage out of the creative cubes and tenoplast. All of my friends think he is spoiled rotten but I don't think so I'm always buying him more toys and a treat of some kind. If I could give him all of the carrots with tops in the world I would.
Annalee was adopted on July 3rd 2001. She is about seven mounths old and was pregnant when I got her. She now has two adorable childern named Aaron and Abby. She loves to spend most of her time at the food bin eating anything from carrots to lettice, apples to cantalope. Her hobies are eating, being held, jumping around and sleeping afterwards, oh ya, did I say eating? That is a big one!! Annalee is tri-colored, black, white and orange (as are her babies)and she says she would be honored to be the cavie of the month!! Thank you for considering Annalee!
Pumpkin is a pretty red American Cavy. I got her from a small pet shop. She was sitting in a tiny tub with a bunch of boars. Despite the chance she might be pregnant, I brought her home anyways. She sat by herself in a small cage until Nikki and the C&C cage came along. She has a very high purr and purrs whenever you touch her. When she is very content she flattens out like a pancake. She likes to be very close to you when being held. Her favorite veggie is Carrots. She always runs out to greet me when it's veggie time and almost wheeks her head off! She popcorns all the time. All in all, she is a hyper, happy, joyful little piggie. She is very special to me.
Hello. My cavy, Nikki is one of the most unique cavies I've ever seen. She is many beautiful colors, and is part Abyssinian, part Silky. When I went to the rescue I went to look at two six-week-old sows, Tiffany and Crystal. I saw her sitting in that tiny cage and asked to hold her. I knew she was the right one as soon as she got into my arms. As I drove home with her I would reach into her box and stroke her. Then I realized that she doesn't purr often, but when she does she has a long, low, almost non-stopping purr. She likes to get very close to you when you hold her, so every lap time is an experience. Her favorite veggie is Parsley. It makes me feel very happy to know I've saved her from a rescue and made room for more piggies. She is more than special.
Hector is a sweet guinea pig. He is orange and black. He loves to eat carrots and will squeek away if he thinks you are coming with his treat. Last winter he started itching a lot and losing his hair. We took him to the vet and discovered that he was allergic to the cedar shavings and have since learned that they are not good for small pets. We now use recycled paper and it works good. I love my pig pig very much, he is a sweetie!
Indrah is a TSW female Abby. It was love at first site. i saw her in a pet shop and I just couldn't resist her beautiful color. Even though they had another guinea pig that I also liked a lot , I just could not put down Indrah. I love her personality too, she is a little devil and will pull food right out of her cage mates mouth even though she may have the same food right in front of her. It's just more fun to steal I guess! I haven't had her for very long but I'm very fond of her and she is fast becoming a favorite.
Patch is the little guy (S'Mores must have taken more than his share in the size department). He's his own little character. He was the first piggie discovered when they were born. He was off far away from the others, and he's remained a little loner, doing his own thing, ever since.patch is my little cutie pie, he was the first named cuz of the patch on one eye,he is only 7 weeks old has a habit of biting my friends they are scared of him now and will only hold friskit and s'mores! but patch is still my sweetie loves swimming he suprised me when he was the first to go to the deep end by himself the others just huddled in the shallow end!
Maurice is 6 years old, and I didn't even know they could live that long! He is so silly! When he was a little baby he used to climb out of his cage and I would find him sitting on my bed looking at me with a goffy little smile! Throughout the years, he has been my best friend. He has been there for me and I have been there for him. When I come home from work he will run around and oink to try and get my attention. Sometimes, if I am really tired to get me to pay attention to him he will put one of jis toys in his food dish! The cutest thing is when he has a carrot! He has a white chin and he looks like a little clown when it is all orange! I would be lost with out my little Maurice! I have a feeling he will be around a long time!
Oreo is a three year old American boar and is an angel in Guinea Pig guise! He was originally supposed to belong to my sister, but the whole family fell in love with him. Right from the start he was a true snuggler who would sprawl out on your chest as you read a book or watched TV. He was and still is a total pig who will eat just about anything! Oreo also served as a comfort to me when I was going through some rough times two years ago. Each night I kept him right next to my bed in a special box, and I would take him out and hold him when I woke up from a vivd nightmare. He also became my official "study-buddy", sitting on my lap or hanging out when I did homework. Last year, Oreo got to come into school with me as part of an English assignment I did on why Guinea Pigs make great first pets. Oreo was quite a gentlemen and helped me get overcome any anxiety about my speech. My teachers and other students all fell in love with him and frequently ask me updates on how he's doing. Oreo is a truly amazing animal and has been like a little guardian angel to me!
My baby Audrey is four months old. She loves to play with her sister Betsy. Audrey loves cuddling in my bed in the morning. She wakes me up every morning with her happy squeals and loving nuzzles. She is so happy, she even popcorns down the ramp in her cage. She teases her sister by shaking her butt and dancing around. She loves carrots and definitly spinach. She enjoys dressing up in her special outfits and posing for pictures. She has beautiful blue eyes with black and pumpkin colored fur.
This is our first baby, Cinder. He completed our family in July of 2002. We got him when he was a very small piggie. He is the highlight of our day. He is so active and fun, we love him to death. He's the best little addition to the family. His hobbies include eating, sleeping, running around, and playing. Isn't he adorable?? :)
These are the newest members of our family. They came into the world on 9-19-02 around 9:15 pm. I am a new pig owner and I throughly enjoy these little critters.

Patrick is my cool, calm and collected pig. When I don't feel well, all I have to do is pick him up, and cuddle him, and he just helps all the pains just go away.
Sierra is a 1 year old Red Abby /mix sow. I think she is a mix because she only has a couple of rosettes on her.I got Sierra this summer from a family who know longer wanted her.Sierra was really named Rusty because the pet shop told them she was a he.I changed her name right away to Sierra.I like her very much, she's sweet and friendly and very neat and clean in her cage.I also love her orangy color and thought this was a nice picture for an Oct. month.
My pig pig was born June 24th, 2002 and she is the cutest little pig! Her parents were different shades of brown but she came out all variegated! Her sister was all black with a brown patch on her eye and a white stripe on her nose, and her brother was all khaki and white variegated. 8 am every morning she wakes me up with WHEEKs and runs in circles in her cage until I get up and get her a carrot or two she has to this day never peed or pooed on ANYONE! Just last night i gave her a washcloth in her cage just to see what she would do with it and this morning when i woke up i looked over and she was gathering it up into a little pile, then proceeded to lay down and use it as a pillow for her tiny little head! How cute is LOLA! LOLA’s SONG (sung to the tune of Copa Cabanna) Her name is Lola, she is a show pig. With carrots in her hair and a skirt that starts right there (points to the rosettes on her butt look like a skirt) she eats waffles and dandelions. And because she has no louse, she resides inside the house
Gwen is a dilute agouti amercan satin. She is my first cavy. I got her when she was pregnant and she gave birth in March. She had 3 babies in which I still have named(in order)-Ebony, Calypso and Eddie. I will start showing Gwen in November with the help of patv.I don't now how old she is but I think she may be over a year.
Daisy is a black and white American (English crested) piggy. She and her "sister" Coco were rescued from Petco in February 2002. Daisy's age is unknown, but based on comparing sizes I think she's about 9 months old. Daisy is skittish in the cage but getting better. "Turn-ons" for Daisy include lying on her fleece cozy for a nap on the lookout shelf (head toward the food), bullying Coco, lap time with her adoring slave, and dining on parsley and kale. "Turn-offs" include eating anything Coco hasn't previously tested for edibility, being picked up, and Oxbow Xtra C.
Daisy is a cute little TSW peruvian. She came to me on the Guinea Pigs A Go-Go trip from the Hollister California rescue effort. She is still very young, was born on July 4, 2002, she loves to cuddle and stretches her back legs WAAAAY out to go to sleep!
I'm resubmiting this picture of ishta because you did not get it with my last submit.
I just forgot to mention htat she is a all white pig with red eyes(PEW)with a deformity which in turn make her a lethal white.
HI,I had a VERY hard time trying to decide what to say about this special pig.It is hard to explain her drive and determination. It is hard to give a description of her.She is what I think one VERY rare pig. Here is my Story.About 7 months ago,WOW time flies,my mom finally let me get my first 2 pigs each a friend.I had to wait til payday, and the wait was KILLING me.Well my mom won at bingo and she bought Goobber for me and surprised me at work with her.Little did we know our HE was a she at the time and that she would be ALOT of work and love. She wasn't sure of people at first, she was kinda anti-social,That didn't last long.We soon noticed something wasn't quite right with her.So we took her to the vet,who in turn informed us we had a Lethal White on our hands and not expect her to live long. She has ALOT of problems, some easy ,some hard ,to deal with. She is blind, but that doesn't stop her from running with the other pigs. She has malocullsion but it doesn't stop her from eating. She has different sized eyes but it doesn't bother her that she looks different. She is a SMALL pig but still got the top rank of all 5 girls. She has deformed kidneys but still she fights to live. Then the worst was when we found out our he was a she and that she was pregnant. We though, vet as well,we would lose her due to this birth, but still she fought, had the babies and lived to talk about it.In reality,I don't know if I would have bought her KNOWING of her defects but I am GLAD we got her.I LOVE HER!She in turn enriched my life,as I did hers,or so I like to think. In her fight to survive and be happy she made me realise that I to can deal with anything. So thanks to this little angel of mine,I am going back to school.I want to become a vet and open a rescue for all the "lethals"and other unwanteds in this world. All of this is thanks to my girl. Before I got her I was going nowhere fast but watching her survive past the first herdle, then the second, then the third, and more, she made me realise I to should fight.I am not saying she is a super pig,she to has her faults, like waking mommy up in the middle of the night ,because she wants to cuddle. All I am saying is she faced the odds against her and won.In statistics she should have been dead by 2 months, but she is now my 8 month old pig,who I love dearly. So you may or may not choose her for the spot of cavy of the months but to me she is my cavy of my life! She is the angel I always asked god for and that is enough for me and I like to believe I am enough for her.Together as we fight for the right to life,we will beat the odds against us.For I have my little angel Goobber to help me along the right path of life. Also,I am there to help her walk down that path, til god decides he wants his precious little angel back and then I will continue for her. Til one day join her again and rejoyce with her.As we both walk down the heaven's road to freedom.Thank you for listen to my story. For that alone means the world to me.May god let me keep my little angel for a LOT longer.

Pea-wee was the last born of the triplets- I know this because when I woke up on april 18th to find 3 strangers looking up at me he was still wet and was curled up behind his momma. He's the little runt but I love him just tthe same. He looks like his mom and dad only crazier fur. He has Mocha's big eyes. Well he is another ladies man. give him some woman and he is happy for life. He can be such a little spaz hehehe- he popcorns, he jumps, he runs- he's just a busy body. When he was a baby he'd cary around pieces of his food in mouth- like saving it for later :0) Now poor Pea-wee has to run from Squirt because Squirt always chases him for his food- but i gotta admit its cute. Squirt will get it and then Pea-wee will take it back and run. My boys are like the pig version of the 3 stuges! :)
This is my little Squirt. Well...... he used to be- now he's the biggest out of the triplets. He will do anything for food- seriously. I think if i gave him a choice between a female in heat and a bunch of lettuce he'd go fo the veggies :) He was the only long-haired out of the bunch. I call him my little mop. He is probably the mellowest out of them all- Im even thinking of taking him into 4H. When I take him out of his cage and cuddle with him on my bed he starts to popcorn- its so cute. He is truely a beautiful cavy and a pleasure to have :)
This is my little Angel- She was part of Mocha's second litter. She has very many of Mocha's qualities including those big eyes. She loves to give me kisses on my arm, finger and cheek. She is a real cutie to. Every time I bring some veggies around she wheeks really loud to let everyone know its time. Then when I open the back door she comes running up and sticks her head out so she can get the first piece. Just watching her makes me laugh. When I got Tiger so she could have a new cage buddie she was not very angelic. lol she was determined to be the dominent one but once that was settled they came inseperable. If i take tiger out- angel squeaks and if i take angel out tiger squeaks. Angel will be 4 months old on august 18th- I cant belive i had her that long : ). She is a joy to be around and I hope i will have her for a long time :)
This is Mocha's first baby- He looks just like her I think, he even has that elvis looking hairdo in front :) I just gotta say that he is a ladies man, lol he is always trying to get with the girls- he's like a minature james bond I think. Hehehe. When he was a baby he was the ornryest thing u have ever seen! If I even came down to pet Mocha he'd start racing around his cage to try and escape being picked up. He's much better now, he doesnt like to be picked up but he loves to be held. Up untill june he was all alone in his cage, I certanly couldnt leave him with his momma and when Mocha's second litter was born I was afraid to leave the boys with him when they got to old to stay with Mocha. But when we all went on a road trip I tried it. It was the sweetest thing in the world! He loved them, they were all huddled up- it was so cute!!! He is a true sweetey and I love him very much!
This is a pic of my late Mocha. She was very sweet but she possesed a sassy attitude as well- she didnt take crap from anyone and i admired her for that. Everyone in my family loved her. I used to sit on the couch with her and watch tv. She'd lay on my lap and cooe and then take a little nap. She was a big momma : 0 ). She wieghed 2 lbs when i got her and probably gained alot more while she was with me :). She was a great mom, as far as I know she only had two litters, one of 2 babys and the other of 3. Her first litter she had a still birth but her other litter produced 3 beautiful babys. When veggie time came she'd stretch up as far as she could with a big smile on her face. When I layed down with her she gave me kisses on my arm or wherever she could. Lol one time she tried kissing me on my mouth but I didnt let her. She was a 1 in a million pig and I miss her very much. She was a happy piggie with me and now she is a happy piggie in the sky : )
Ishta is a golden agouti and white Abyssinian sow. Ishta is about two years old now and I've really enjoyed her and hope she lives a long life. She is the perfect lap pig because the first thing she does is just flop on her side when I put her in my lap for petting. Also when I go to get her out of her cage she is totally relaxed to be picked up into the air, as most just try and run away when you go to pick them up, she is such a confident guinea pig it amazes me sometimes.Ishta also has a sheen to her coat, the white looks like pearls shimmering especially after she gets a bath. I beleive she has satin in her. Ishta is a very special pig to me and a real pleasure to own.
Female calico adopted from a rescue that took in many animals after a pet store owner took off, leaving most of the animals to starve to death or die of thirst. Callie is the baby of one of the pigs that lived. She is five months old.
Wilbur is a Pink Eyed White Peruvian and was adopted from our local SPCA and is the first guinea pig I owned and started the whole gp craze. We now own 12 gp's with 2 more on the way from the Hollister rescue. He is a very smart pig, whenever he has to go bathroom when he is sitting on me, he tugs at shirt so I know to put him back in cage to do his "business". When he is finished I pick him back up and we settle down on the couch again for a session of piggy purrs and lickies, he is such a great cuddler. He always makes me smile when I see him no matter what kind of day I've had, I love him so much.
Oreo is an adorable abysinnian mix. Oreo is the most adorable, curious guinea pig ever. His eyes will look up at you with such curiousity, you can't help but love him. Everything about him makes my whole family and I smile. We bought him about a year ago, but still he fills our hearts with joy and love each time he lets out another squeal of happiness. Oreo's favorite treats are carrots. If you give him a carrot, he will show his little piggy lips twisted with pure joy. Oreo was my first cavy and will always be "my little baby".
This is Webby, he is a white Abyssinian cavy. Webby was “smuggled” to me when he was going to be put down because people thought he was blind. It turns out he wasn’t even blind. Webby’s favorite time is when I clean out his cage and he gets a bunch of brand new hay. He’ll pull all the hay out of the basket and make a little nest out of it. He’ll sleep there almost all day but every once in a while he’ll sleep in the cozies I made for him. He’s turned me into a true cavy slave!!
Sierra is a Red Abyssinian Cavy. I'ne only had her for a short time, but I'm very pleased with her sweet disposition. Sierra is a bit on the shy side and loves to hide in her pigloo quite a bit. I love her red color and her very soft coat, she loves to be pet on her head. When i hold her she really prefers to be in a piggie pouch or cozy, I guess she feels secure in there. Sierra is a real sweetie and I hope she wins Cavy of the month!
Petunia is a very sweet and outgoing pig. She is the smartest pig I have ever seen. She purrs when I say her name and she will come to me almost like a dog. My other pigs purr, but not like this. She recognizes MY footsteps when I get out of bed and starts a chain reaction of squeaks. She does not do this for my husband!
He is an orange and white abysinian. Fuzz is quite a snuggle bug and loves to crawl up to your neck and snuggle right in there. He also is a very big talker while being held just full of love and affection. His appetite is just as big, first to the dish and last to finish. Sometimes I think he is afraid to get to far away from the food dish so he sleeps in the kitchen. What a little piggie!
I posted this again because its a better pic. She was beautiful in both looks and the way she acted. We all miss her very much. :)
Hercules is a American shorthaired male guinea pig. We like to call him "Herk" for short. Hercules loves all the attention in the world. In return he will give you love nibbles and licks on your ear or lips. His favorite thing to do is to graze on the grass and eat till his heart is content . He also loves to run around in the living room and this guinea pig can run as fast as a rabbit and its fun to watch. He is a very special pig because he has a great personality and looks to match.

Mocha was my first cavy- she always had a smile on her face like in the picture shown. She had a beautiful face and coat. The picture that I have submitted is the best one I have right now- if I get a better one I will submit it. (my latest pics before she passed are still developing) She had a great spunky attitude and was a great mom to the 4 she raised with me. Before I got her August 22, 2001- she lived in a horrible pet store that should have been shut down. I know that in the time she was with me she was much happier. She was probably about 3 when she died. I was not used to having a dog in the house so i accidently forgot to shut the door. In the time that i was in my grandma's room, Magic my aunts greyhound came in and picked her up. She either had a heart attack or he broke her neck. There isnt a day that goes by that i dont think of her and regret my mistake. She was the best guinea pig anyone could have had and I hope to see her again when it is my time to go. I loved her so much.
She is a black/red texel mix that came to me on the CA - CO piggy train. She is estimated to be about 3 months old and pregnant! Immediately she tore at my heart and I couldn't bare to ever part with her. She may have eternal bad hair days but her personality is great! She is the jumpinest pig I have ever seen and loves to jump off of the couch, causing me to hold my breath. I will never understand how someone didn't want her in their life, but because of that, I have the most wonderful little friend ever!
Black/Red Texel Mix

Buton alias" The Colonel" is the master of my heart. He is the sweetest pet I ever had and makes my daily life less blunt. As you can see in the pigture :O), his pleasure in life is FOOD. One little pellet, one sip of water, one pellet, water…
A beautiful loving baby!!! My Love!! He is at the bridge now, but he was my 1st GP and I can't wait to someday see him again!!
The reason we put Picasso in this yellow suit is because he hates water. Plus, we think he looks SO cute in it. Picasso is three years old, and he lives with Finnigan. He likes approaching humans so that they can scratch his back and neck. He loves timothy hay and licking things.
Tim is a beautiful golden darkeyed satin. He has a great personality and he is really outgoing and fun to live with. In the summer her loves to be outside in the garden so I try to let him out as often as possible. Tim has to cage-mates: Tristan and Simon
Jubilee, a lovely red American pig, was born to George as the result a "surprise" pet-store pregnancy. He's the friendliest of our pigs, so when it came time to wean him from mom and separate him from his female relations, we decided we couldn't give him up and instead made a spacious new bachelor pad (aka C&C cage) for him. My British husband named Jubilee for the Queen's Jubilee, which took place they day he and sister Evil Pig were born (June 4th 2002). He is a total sweetheart with a cute face to match!
black-eyed red a
sorry. two days before his b-day he died. and esting is resting.
Licorice was a hardy and agreeable little pig. He went through two guinea pigs of different litters when he was an adult. One of his friends, Snickers died of ear infection. Licorice caught it too, but lived through it. He agreed to take his medicine nightly. Then, two days before his first birthday. He then was buried and dug up by a hungry fox. He gave his peaceful esting for a fox to have food. He was a black American Satin boar, and he will always be remembered.
just trying the pic again
American short hair, brown with a white spot on his head, we got Resse and his mother from a pet store, He is a little shy but love too be held, Reese is a small little guy with a big heart, we nicked named him peanut because he is soo small, Reese is fun too watch, He thinks he is king of the food bowl, He is soo little he fits right in it ,We are so pleased too have him in ower lifes. He make every day a good one with them big eyes and the tenderness he has.

Puddin' is an American crested although the flash in the picture makes her look lighter she is solid black except for the white rosette on her head. Her favorite food is carrots and she goes crazy for parsley. I think she is about 2. She is a very shy pig compared to the other three I have. She is so sweet and when I hold her she loves to lick my hands. She is spoiled and loved so much!
Black American crested
Zippy is a two year old red and black short hair boar.He came to live with us when we asked a guinea pig rescue for a couple of cavies.I wasn't fussy about what breed or sex they would be, i just wanted to give some neglected guinea pigs a home. Anyway, the lady from the rescue arrived and with her she'd brought two little boars.I loved them as soon as i saw them and couldn't say no to them. I named them Rocky and Zippy - Zippy was the baby of the two.He loves his food, especially a good chunk of cucumber. He's that greedy he even tries to steal Rocky's share of veggies! What's funny about it is that Zippy, who used to be regarded as 'the little one',is now the biggest of our boys weighing in at over a hefty 3lbs! He's certainly got a chubby belly on him now.Zippy is a really cute guinea pig, regardless of his pigginess. That's probably how he gets away with eating so much, he's got such a little innocent face! He likes being in the garden, running about the floor but mostly what he enjoys, about as much as eating, is having a good lazy sleep. Curled round, legs stretched out - the works! We love Zippy so much i couldn't imagine life without his chuckly noises, that cheeky charm. He's definately a real guinea PIG!
Friskit is a chocolate and white silky abby mix he is 11 wheeks old and his hair is getting very long it already curls on teh ground he gets plety of exersize running and swimming! Friskit is my first pig adn we got him as well as his mom missy.Friskit is a very talkitive pig and wheeks and chirps ALL night depriving me of sleep! both piggies have to live in my room du eto my dads allergies. Friskit loves to snuggle and when I pick him up he crawls into my hair where he cuddles up. his eaars are folded backwords! andf his coat is rather funny! the hair in teh front that sweeps back is short and the hair on his bottem is long! he and his mother (who thinks Friskit is nothing more than a pain) both live in a 2x4 cube cage and they love it!.
Hamilton is a red and white Texel. He is fun loving and very curious. Even though he is smaller than our other pig he likes to take charge. After spilling his water bottle and taking a cool romp he likes to curl up on his brick for a snooze. He is incredibly soft and so much fun to snuggle. Such a joy to have around.
Kitty is a Tortie and White colored American. I got her at the pet store (I didnt know better at the time!) so I am guessing she is either 1 year or younger. The photo was taken before she had four babies (because petland is a joke and cant separate her from all the males!) so thats why her photo is so LARGE. She happily lives with 5 other girls and her 3 sons (in a different cage across the room). She is the boss of the cavy palace (6 by 5 cubes with a 2 by 5 cubed 2nd level) Its a mansion! She gets anywhere from 2 - 6 hours of floor time a day, 2 full plates of fruits and veggies daily (shared with her family) and gets tons of love. Her favorite things to do is play outside and falling asleep during lap time. She is my beautiful girl and I will love her forever.
I goofed in the previous entry description and accidentally said Sikly, when I meant Silky, and I cannot find a way to edit or even delete an entry I placed. :(
Sikly is the name this beautiful satin, part himilayan pig came with from the Rescue organization we adopted him from. We are slowly trying to change his name to Sigmund, but will mostly call him Ziggy for short. Unless I come up with something else. He is nuetered and is therefore fortunate to live with the females. He is a sweet lovable lap pig and will occasionally give kisses. But what he really loves is chasing the women pigs. :)
I hope it is ok to enter his baby picture. I can't seem to find any special rules that even say how often we are allowed to enter, but I am confining myself to once a month at least. Anyway, Simon is a black/white broken coronet, I think. He was the cutest little thing sitting there in the pet store looking like a baby skunk and that is the only reason I wound up becoming a cavy slave. :) Simon is a moody little pig but can be very sweet when he wants to be. He will always be my baby, even though he is now about 9 months old. I just love him to pieces.
Sidney is a silver agouti and white, sort of dutch marked, pig. He is such a cuddle pig and we like to call him our Gummi Bear ever since the time I accidentally said Gummi Bear when I meant Guinea Pig. He really loves his veggies and is our loudest wheeker at veggie time. When cuddled, he gives kisses and sometimes little nibbles that can barely be felt. He is a joy to have around. :)
Enebackens Georgina or Georgia as I call her is a 3 years old american crested guineapig. She was 2½ years old when she moved in with me. Before that she lived with a breeder who tried to breed from her, but Georgia never had any babies so I got her :-).
American Crested Power :-). 5 Beautiful american crested cavies. Tristan, Tommie and Georgia are owned by Emmy M. Simonsen, Denmark and Willie and Rollie are owned by Andreas Blom Larsen, Denmark.
Golden American Crested cavies. Tommie is 6mths old and has been neutered so that he can be company for Georgia who is 3 years old. As you can see, thise two guineapigs are very happy together.

Cheyenne is a beautiful and soft Himalayan pig. She is mostly sweet, but loves to punch people's hand with her head. Kind of butting like a goat. About four weeks after I got her I found out she is visually impaired. But she has fairly good vision in one eye, and at least some vision in both. She can see best in dim lighting.
Charlotte is a TSW Silky. She is quite meek with humans and will just sit in your lap so quiet and still, she won't even back up to let you know she is about to potty. But in the cage, she is head honcho... she rules the pig pen, but the others don't let themselves get too bossed around.
He is a lovely honey-coloured american crested pig. Ginger is one of 4 boys born in Caerwys, North Wales in October 2001. He now lives with his brother Fred in a very compatible partnership as they lived together since day one.Ginger is very placid and will pose endlessly for photos (we took 14 other shots!) without complaint, particularly if there are some nice celery leaves waiting at the end! his hobbies are running through tubes whilst out in his garden run, and waiting for Fred to reach up and ask for food (which Ginger is VERY keen on!) because he can't be bothered asking.
Mina Moo (a.k.a Mina Myster) was born in Ontario on July 19th, 2000. She grew up to be a little dumb blonde version of me. For example: When ever i bring in her favourite food, and put it in her food dish, she will start to look every where else but the food dish. Or, she will think that i am a chew toy, cause whenever she is on the floor, she will come and lay down beside me and start to chew on my cloths, while her sister Fluffy, is running around doing popcorns, and hiding where she can't be found. Well anyways, Mina is one heck of a cute guinea pig and she would love to be this months(or next) GP of the month!
Fluffy was born on July 2nd, 2000, to a loving mom(owner) Sabrin. She took care of her day in and day out, caring, feeding, and raising her. When she was born, everyone thought she was a little baby boy, but turned out to be a beautiful white female princess. We named her Fluffy, and she grew up to be a wonderful little angel. On June 9th, Fluffy became ill, and the vet told us that she had a problem. That problem was malloclusion. When i heard the news, i was devistated, and prayed everyday for her to survive. The vet recently told me that there was a low chance of her surviving. On July 2nd, it will be Fluffy's last birthday, and she hopes that she will be noticed before she goes to that little place in the sky. I love you Fluffy. Happy Birthday.

Mister Scruffaluffagus a.k.a. "Scruffy" (L) and his brother Theodore Monstaire a.k.a. "Teddy Monster" or just "Teddy" (R) are quite a pair! Wherever curious Teddy goes, Scruffy's sniffing nose is sure to follow. You may have seen Teddy in pictures -- look at that profile!!! He was Mel Gibson's stand-in in the movie "Braveheart". Teddy's favorite thing to do is to be a "pop-in-the-box" and pop his head out over the edge of his bin to see what is going on outside. Teddy's little brother Scruffy likes to get into the action too, and likes to see what is going on; his favorite thing to stand on is Teddy!!! These two little fuzzies are also proponants of equal rights -- if you pet one and do not pet the other one equally, the piggy who is being ignored will simply come up and shove his brother aside, and shove his head under your hand with a big cavy smile. These two are also star athletes, and are on the cavy varsity "cardboard tube wrestling" team; this sport is pending consideration by the olympic committee. Look for them in Summer 2004!!!

Maurice is blond, white, and brindle
fat two girls. churro:brown. macy:brown, black, and white
Acorn is a grey American crested cavy. He will be celebrating his sixth birthday the first of July. We brought him home along with his brother when they were approximatley 3months old. He has always been independent and a little arrogant. He always sat back and let his brother do the begging for veggies, we wondered if maybe he just wasn't as bright as our Skunk. We lost Skunk last year, Acorn then stepped up and showed us how bright he was,he started gnawing on the cage as his brother always had. We realized he only works when he has to. He has survived breast cancer at the age of 2yrs. He coped well with losing his sibling. What a joy it is to watch his determined spirit to keep going. His nicknmaes include BIB, Picky Eater, Sweetlips, Ox and Acronicus Biblin.
reddish orange with white hind feet and a white spot on her forehead. She is the sweetest little piggie ever!
Mama Bear is a female teddy bear pig with splashes of black, brown, & white in her fur.She was already pregnant when I brought her home from the pet store two years ago. Hence, her name. She is also a "love bear.", as in....loves to be held...loves to get snacks...loves to play...loves to be center of attention...Mama Bear also has plenty of love to give. On those occasions that I've brought her to work, she has behaved beautifully with the elderly residents that I've allowed to hold her. Mama Bear also has an excellent grasp of human talk. I know this because, should my husband ever promise to hold her when he comes home from work...she fully expects him to pick her up as soon as he steps foot through the front door. If he fails to keep his promise..she stares him down until he has NO choice but to drop what he is doing and pick her up. What a love bear.
Kitty is a Tortie and White colored American. She just had babies so thats why her photo is so LARGE. She happily lives with 5 others in a large 6 by 5 cube cage with 2 other levels which are both 4 by 2 cubes. Its a mansion! She gets 2 hours of floor time a day, 2 full plates of veggies and lots of love. She is a beautiful piggy with the sweetest heart! Her favorite things to do is nap inside her Cozy and to play in the backyard while munching on the clover and dandelions. Kitty will be with me forever!
Cream is a CAP (Cavy American Princess). She loves red and yellow peppers, kale, parsley, carrots, broccoli stalks, peaches, and timothy hay, especially the leaf heads. She has also been known to eat grapes, bananas, apples, and watermelon. But she wants nothing to do with chewable vitamin C tablets, because she insists on the $128/pint liquid orange-flavored, sugar-laced vitamin C syrup. She likes to live in style. She's the only one of my piggies who doesn't get nervous and jumpy when I try to pet her, and is so much fun to play with. Her alter-ego and cagemate Root Beer sometimes bosses her around in their home, but that doesn't fool me. During floor time, Cream is the leader. She explores everywhere with eagerness and complete lack of fear, with Root Beer usually following a few steps behind.
He is my little baby foster piggy. He is the wild one of the litter, he thinks he rules the roost.
brown, white , and tan abyssinian
Popcorn is the latest edition to my small cavy collection. She is the daughter (we hope) of my second piggy, Caserole. She is really sweet and adventurous and demanding on her mum! She's a spoilt pig and everyone loves her. Oh except for her 'aunt' Rosie who is jealous of her.
My little (wild) one!
Nikki is my little sweetie (brat) who always wants her way, but is almost always ready for a nice back rub! :-)
Long haired Peruvian or Sheltie. Blackjack was adopted through a guinea pig rescue here in Maryland. He's a sweety with my 2 girls but with the other boy.....well they have piggy fight club every once in a while so I have to watch them if I have them together. Blackjack is almost totally black with just a hint of brown highlights. None of his pictures do him justice.
such a handsome lovable little guy. a little rascal as well, always getting into trouble. he loves his parsley and loves to be rubbed under his chin. when he runs his little bum shakes from side to side and it's the cutest thing you'll ever see.
Tipper is an American Lilac cavy. She is very sweet. She loves carrots and parsley, and she loves to play outside and eat grass.
The Snuggly Bear and the Huggy Bear
Jack is my little huggy bear. He's is the biggest momma's boy you would ever come across.
Charla is my newest addition. I wanted an abby to break my American obsession, and I saw her and had to take her home! She's still rather shy, but she's getting along with the other four ladies rather well. Charla likes to be held but she doesn't like to be picked up, you figure that one out, lol!
Oreo and Jillian are sisters born March 1, 2002. They are both little snots and like to argue with each other over everything. Both are also very sweet and are always up to be held or pet. Jillian loves floor time and likes to 'talk' the whole time she is out. Oreo likes to run full speed around the room that they get floor time in, sometimes it's like she just forgets she's a guinea pig and acts like a little bucking bronco! They are the funniest little things to watch, hours of enjoyment!
Carmelita is my 8 month old baby. She's a great guinea pigs, always up to be held and pet. She loves when the weather is nice and she gets to eat and play outdoors. She really enjoys lap time and any time when she gets yummy veggies!
Sidney is a short haired American boar with dutch markings. His color is Gray or silver agouti and white. He is a sweet lovable little guy who loves to give cuddles and kisses. It is difficult to write a humorous description of him at this time for he is battling with kidney stones and we are battling with surgery alteratives to help him. He is only 7 months old and we do not know what his prognosis for the future will be if we get him past this first episode of stones, but we are changing his diet already to one that is least likely to cause more stones. I pray for the best for Sidney for he has been a dear little friend and is quite a fighter it would seem.
Simon is either a crested Sheltie mutt, or a Coronet. But I have been told that a coronet has hair parted down the back, and Simon does not. He is a sweet but moddy little pig who likes to jump to his upper deck, clearing at least 8 1/2 inches in the process. I can't eat a banana or apple without giving him a bite but he doesn't eat much of them and prefers parsley and carrots to the veggies with better nutrition which I so "selfishly" try and coerce him to eat. He's areal comedian and likes to play "chase the guinea pig at times"... running all around his cage and daring me to capture him, all the while laughing his furry little head off at me. His favorite trick is to put a piece of hay in his crest somehow or other and then pretend he is trying to look up and see it. This makes him look a one of those nodders people put in the back window of a car. I bought Simon because his nose stipe that continues down his back made him look like an adorable little baby skunk without a tail.

Zenook is a little over 7 months old. He loves to hide under my brother's bed. He is so friendly and gentle. He will sit in my lap purring away for a very long time.

Biscuit is a female guineapig that loves to explore. And loves to go completly bilistic on her lead in the garden. Her companin is Brandy who is also a female guineapig and they live in their hutch in the garden which is owned by Her majesty the Rabbit Miss Floppy Woppy who is enormously fat even though she is the smallest breed of rabbit you can get!!!
My husband works second shift and I'm alone alot. He bought me Harry, who is a 5 month old Silkie, to keep me company. It took me a long time to choose a pig when I went to get one, and Harry was almost not 'the one'. I was leaning towards his black and white sister, but my husband liked Harry alot, thinking he looked like a little lion. I'm glad he was the one I went home with that night, because he adds a little comic relief to my day with his joyful personality. I find myself talking to Harry like he's another person in the room, but what cavy owner doesn't? LOL. He's spoiled rotten and knows it. He's a very finicky pig, insisting on peeled apples and only the best parsley. But even though he's a little quirky that way I wouldn't trade him for anything!
Jessy is a 3 month oldTSW Abyruvian. She was my first cavy purchased from a local pet store at 5 weeks old. Jessy can have quite a temperment at times and gets quite loud when she's not getting her way but she is the baby even though she's not the youngest so she gets spoiled. She LOVES parsley and HATES getting her nails trimmed. Recently we purchased a show baby, a lil peruvian, and when I brought her home Jessy was hiding her in the wooden house and "protecting" her from the other sows. She did something similar when we got another sow Molly who is much older then Jessy. Molly was painfuly shy and hid under the C&C cage all by herself so Jessy went under there and just sat next to her quietly talking. Even though Jessy can be a brat at times lol she is a very sweet and friendly pig and makes my day every day.
Lil Bear is a 7 week old American Tortoise Shell. He was adopted from our fellow CG member Erin. Bear is spunky and VERY talkitive. Many times you will find him picking through the veggies and chattering to himself in contentment. He also (having free range of the house) loves to find hidey holes and scare me half to death when I don't see him for a couple hours at a time. lol He is a very sweet baby and will be showing this summer. We expect the lil spitfire to do well if he will sit still for the judges.
This handsome 9 month old Abyssinian is James. He was a Petco rescue and so worth it. Here he is trying to act bashful but don't let him fool you, having free roam of the house he spends most of his time looking into the sows cage and drooling. James is the least timid of my herd and does not run when I go to pick him up or jump at odd noises. He knows his name and will stop and give me a LQQK when I call him like, "what I am trying to attract these women here". James is my buddy and usually goes on short errands with me in the car. The bank and Wendy's have come to know him well lol. : )
Lilly is a white Abyssinian mutt ( meaning she's mixed with something else as well). She has a black patch outlined in brown over her right eye and a brown patch over her left eye. She was adopted from her owner who wasn't able to take care of her anymore. Lilly is orginally from a fellow CG member's rescue (imanut4u). Lilly is aprox. 2 years old, very laid back, and very cuddly and soft. She loves to lay with you and be petted and stroked and being the oldest pig in my herd she takes everything in stride. Lilly is a joy to service.
Geep is a beautiful American guinea pig. She was born on the 4th of July, 2001, and has been living with me since August 15th - (my birthday). Geep is a very loving cavy, but she's very ornery at times, also! It's part of what makes her sooo endearing. She loves fresh grass, and will do darn near anything for a bit of watermellon!
Carmelita is my 8 month old baby. She's a great guinea pigs, always up to be held and pet. She really enjoys lap time and any time when she gets yummy veggies!
Nixie has a big attitude. She bites strangers who try to touch her or hold her. She was given to her owner by the owner's uncle as a present. Nixie doen't bite Gabby(her owner). They share a special relationship, between cavy and human.
American Shorthair, very sweet and loving.
goofy (as shown in picture) cutie pie He likes to run. He is what I'm guessing to be an abburuvian.
Butterfinger is a very playful female. She is always trying to play 'tag' wiht her best friend snickers. She is always running around and having fun. Butterfinger is about 4 months old. I love her very much.
Snickers is a female cavy. She is my third guinea pig. She is very playful and never bites or scratches. Snickers has three different colors on her fur: white, dark brown, and caramel. Her best friend's name is Butterfinger, who she shares the cage with. Snickers always comes to me when I call her name. She is also trained not to leave surprises on the carpet. Since Butterfinger is also a female cavy and younger thanSnickers, Snickers is always looking after her, like a mother. We've had Snickers for about seven months now.
White with a broken black line across back and a tan patch over his left eye. Milo is a rescue pig. He was part of a large group of guinea pigs being bred for various research laboratories. He ended up in a local shelter and from there became a Christmas gift to me from my husband and children along with his mate, Molly.
Brown/white, white w/brown crest, black, fluffy red-brown; We got Penny in September, and soon found that a new pig found its way home with us every month. The only thing better than one pig is a herd of pigs! We can sit and watch them play for hours!
This is Wilbur. He was my first guinea pig, and he passed away on March 12, 2002. He was only 2 years old. His fav. food was carrots and he loved running around on the floor and hiding under things. I miss him a lot.
Carmelita is my first pig in about 6 years, I passed her in the petshop and thought she was the cutest thing! She's a great piggie, and loves lap time. In the picture is her buddy Sylvester, he always likes to sit in her cage with her! I recently got Carmelita a pal and Sylvester is afraid to sit in with her because the girls gng up on him and bite his tail! They still get together outside the cage!
Dawson passed away on December 27th 2001 and this is his buddy Max who is still with me. This picture was taken quite a while ago, and Max was just a baby. He is alot bigger now (over 3 pounds) but is still as cute as a button. I thought I would submit this picture for cavy of the month as a tribute to Dawson and for Max, who loved Dawson so much and unconditionaly. The bond between them was incredible. We both miss him dearly.
A Cavy from Hungary
Adorable little guy who "talks" all the time. He is constantly keeping us up at night with his chattering. Is a hyper little guy that so far doesn't like too many vegetables, but i'm sure once his friend and him are living together he will learn what to do,
DON'T KNOW WHY PICS AREN'T CLEAR
here is an uncompressed pic of penny

Even tho they are new borns each have a bright personality! Oreo is a nervoud wreck without mommy right infront of her and she will wheek until she gets her momma back in sight. Bear is an independent male who likes to play with the bird toy bell. He and Oreo run under it and hit it with their heads and run in circles around it! Jillian is the most laid back of all the babies, she likes to be held or is content snuggling in the corner with her brother and sister!
Slinky is a really sweet guinea pig, when you pick her up and are petting her she will just snuggle with you, lie down and purr, it is the sweetest thing, and she is the sweetest piggie. She is the first one i go to when I am sad and just need a hug. I named her Slinky because when she reaches for her lettuce she stretches waay out, then snaps back, like a slinky! Slinky is my first guinea pig ever, and is the first furry pet i have ever had because of my dad's allergies. When we got Slinky, she was pregnant, so two months later we had four guinea pigs, instead of one! I was ecstatic, not only were Slinky and the babies happy and healthy, but now i had FOUR guinea pigs to play with! I would have to say that Slinky's favorite things are being held and petted, and lettuce. I am really lucky to have a sweet guinea pig like slinky, Slinky has got it all: Cuteness, personality, and a loving home.
A new addition to our family. Cute little girl who we hope will enjoy her new home and in a few weeks, her new friend. She seems so shy and timid and so far has only eaten her vegetables when no one is in the room.
A new addition to our family. Cute little girl who we hope will enjoy her new home and in a few weeks, her new friend.
She squeaks for food everytime the bedroom door opens, she loves her parsley and apples but won't touch many carrots. Very spoiled little girl :)
This is Harry! He is a neutered peruvian that was dumped off at a local shelter by a breeder who was changing out his stock. I adopted him from my local rescue. He is the sweetest pig! Loves his veggies (as you can see in the pic), cuddles, and Daisy his cagemate. :o)
He's very cute .. and nice !.. He is the coolest guiena pig i know :) he is 4 months old and was born on October 30th
this is my baby boy Rodney. He is about 4 years old. Rodney has had a tough life, he is losing his vision and he has arthritis, but he is a very happy pig.
Ginger and Saffron were both really gentle loving g-pigs. Ginger was my first guinea pig and lived until 7 and a half years old. She was very docile and extremly tame! Saffron came to me pregnant and needed a ceasarean as she was too old to deliver naturally. Sadly she died after the op but had four beautiful babies.
Lexie and Lita love hay, apples, romaine lettuce, and carrots! They both like to sit ontop their lookouts and see what's happening in my room. Lita loves to cuddle and have lap time but Lexie would rather run around on her own. They are both great pigs and I am glad to serve them!
Nettles, Baby, and Thistle.
Thistle
Arigho is a one year old short-haired guinea pig, who's entirely spoiled and lives in my bedroom. He has for a year been my favorite guinea pig that I own, and proved to be a fun personality. He acts like a baby, needs me for everything, yet has a very strong spirit and will in his own right! He loves having fellow cavy friends, and loves to explore my apartment on foot. But his favorite thing to do is chew! He's a mother's dream.

Bailey is my first and only piggie. He is cute as a button and really smart. Bailey loves to run, wheek, and do lots of other piggie stuff. He can't wait till I get him a friend. For now he likes being an only child because he gets all the toys.
Snowflake is a white albino. She is one of four babies that were born at my house this past June. Her two sisters live at my friend's house so they visit often. Snoflake loves lettuce and giving kisses. She will lick your face if you let her. She is the sweetest piggy i've ever owned. She has also been known to take a nap in your lap. She loves cuddling. When you slowly rub your hand over her back she coos softly. Snowflake is getting married in the beginning of February to a a male pig named Snickers. They met once and loved each other. He is my best- friend's pig and when she had to go home they wouldn't let us take them away from each other. I'm sure they will be very happy together. Snowflake brings us lots of joy and since she is only 7 monthes old, she will continue to bring us joy for a long time.
Female Balck and Tan short hair
This is 1 of my lovely piggies : Ruffles. Ruffles loves eating carrots and apples .He sits at the side of his cage waiting for grass and enjoys being groomed. Ruffles likes visiting his other guinea pig friends Rosey , Dream , Tiger & Rascals. They are also my guinea pigs. I have had Ruffles for about 6 months and already we are close friends!
Midnight was my baby guinea pig, who died last year. He was a black, crested guinea pig, with a heart full of good. He hated to be ignored, and loved to be talked to. I loved him, and he loved me. He was my best friend, and I was his. I wanted my baby to be remembered, but I don't have his picture yet. He loved people, and knew if he was a bother. Please let my baby be proud and let him know he is missed. I just wanted him happy, but he died in my arms.

Suey is a very active piggy! She loves to popcorn with her other cagemates Penelope, and Jewl. She's always been best friends with Butterscotch, they enjoy sleeping together. Suey is also very loud, she loves to wheek! She loves to run in and out of tunnels, suey is definately entertaining you can never be bored with Suey!
Butterscotch is a 1 year old American Crested Cavy. She is a laid back kind of piggy, and her favorite thing to do is snuggle. She rooms with 3 other cagemates, Suey, Penelope and Jewl. Butterscotch enjoys watching them popcorn and have fun. But she much rather relax in my lap while i feed her veggies.

American Crested ...quiet but lovable piggy
A ginger and white long haired rex who is 6 months old and is very layed back and likes exploring.
Tri-coloured (brown, ginger, white) 6 month old, female, peruvian. She is absolutly crackers and is scared easily but is very cute and sleeps a lot !
a placid old man who went too early to his grave - I will never forget Bert
Ever seen a Dutch piggy? I named her after my car because they are a like: black, fast, hungry, in shape and a nice budd. This black beauty has long hair and is one years old. Here favourite act is laying for ours in my arms, believe it, every evening! .
Our piggie is Carney, owned by Murphy and Moses. She is an American Strawberry Roan. She was bought at a county fair in California (hence her name). When we came home to Pennsylvania, Carney flew on her own ahead of us, as animal cargo, and spent some time waiting for us at the house of our friends Ben, Jen and Emily. Jen put Carney in her doll house, where you can see she immediately made herself at home - got into bed, and started watching TV. Carney enjoys purring while people pet her and devouring vegetables of all sorts. She will squeak for food when she hears anyone opening the fridge or rustling a shopping bag. Carney is queen of the household, and is rather unfriendly to our other piggie, Snowflake, and other cavies or rabbits that happen to come visiting.

Hedge-piggle was the name of my friend's cavy... but the name grew on me. Originally, she was supposed to be my five-year-old brother's, but I sort of... stole her. She seemed to like me better, because I'd sneak late-night alfalfa into her cage and since I homeschool, I'd play with her while studying Japanese or Hedge-piggle herself. She was purchased recently from a strange place far, far away (PETsMART) and from then on, she has been a clucking ball of fun. The poor fuzz has some sort of fungus on her ear that she developed with the breeder, but with medication it is slowly dissolving. Hedgie is a sweet, smart, adorable little cavy, and she gets along well with my reading lamp, too. She constantly chews on it. And it's metal... go figure.
Tri- Colored American
a medium haired mixed breed. He was in bad shape before my husband's cousin rescued him from shelter in another state. We brought him home to give him a better life, and the vet says he'll do fine with us taking care of him.
Twikie (yellow & white abby) is sweet and sociable Podge (brown ?) is a little fraidy-pig!
White abyssinian with a dash of a long haired breed I think, because her hair is too long to be a proper aby but too short to be any kind of long hair! She has a great personality and always stretches out and purrs when you strke her along her back. I'm a very proud mummy!
Dante: White short-haired English Cavy (PicturedLeft) Roseamry: BLack, white and tan abyssnian (Pictured Right)
Cockatoo (the white cavy) was named after the way she cleans her face, because her hair goes up like feathers of a cockatoo bird. I got her when she was 8 weeks old, she was one of my very first guinea pigs. Aspen, is the multicolored pig, I got her the same time I got cockatoo, she was 12 weeks old when I got her. I named her after the pet store I got her at - Aspen Park Pet Store. They live in my room, in a 2 story cage that my dad built. When Cockatoo gets excited she jumps as high as the 2nd floor, Aspen is very shy. Their favorite food are carrots, which I give them every morning.Aspen got to listen to the story I wrote and she is sitting in my lap. When I first got my little piggies, I had a cavy slumber party with my friends and we ate all night like guinea pigs and we all drew a picture of our favorite guinea then played some guniea pig games! I think my piggies really like me. I love my little piggies!
small, fluffy, pregnant.i just got her a few days ago and shes sooo freekin cute, she lets anyone rub her belly and feet, shes the cutest thing when she relaxes, and she loves to stretch out her back legs
2 females, born in a Children's farm
Abby came to us as an adoption from the Connecticut Humane Society. Abby is 6 years old and still manages to keep up with her young friends while playing "tag-your-it" in the living room. Abby's sweet disposition and loving purrs has earned her the title "Best Pig" in our household. I can't imagine why her former owners had to give her up but we are glad to have her.

Buffy
Buffy was one of the first two guinea pigs I got three years ago, and she later had four beautiful babies, two boys and two girls. She was very shy at first, but she mellowed as she got older. She loved to give kisses, and sometimes while holding her she would just start kissing me all over my face and neck, and it would tickle so much. She lived with her daughters, whom she was the best mother to. She was part abyssinian and had two whirls which gave her like a mohawk along her spine. She had the most beautiful large cheek muscles, and the most beautiful eyes. Unfortunately she went to the Rainbow Bridge on the eve of our Mother's Day (Australia) to look after her son Baby who went there on Mother's Day last year (2000). We miss her so much, she was the best girl in the world. I miss her kisses and her snuggles. I'll never stop missing her, she was the most special girl a mum could have. I hope that she can be remembered as a Cavy of the month. She deserves it, she was a very tough girl, who unfortunately went through a lot. She is loved and missed forever. She was two months shy of her 3rd birthday when she left us. Her remaining three babies are 2 1/4 years old now.

Bigoudi
Bigoudi is 3 years old and she changes all my life. She is my sweet love and the sun of each day. She has a strong personality and she knows exactly what she wants. I remember when I decided to adopt a guinea pig, at the shop in the hutch I said Bigoudi, it is mummy, she immediately left the group of the guinea pigs and I bought it. Until now, she has a very sweet and quiet life at home.

Maxwell Java Hause
Max was my return to guinea pigs after a long hiatus. He drank from a cup, loved his carrots, and went to college (hence the caffiene-inspired name). He was the most sociable, loving guinea pig I've ever owned, and I can't imagine what it would have been like without him. I'd probably still be pigless and would not have the joy of getting to know him, Steve, Julius or any of the cavy community. I'll always remember his misadventures behind the fridge, his "taste" in literature, and his unbreakable spirit. He was diagnosed with cancer September 2001 and passed over the bridge a few short weeks later. I submit this picture in his loving memory. Thanks for the memories. :)

George
This is my 2 year old peruvian George .We had been looking for a Peruvian for a long time and we found 1 . We called the pet shop my my grandmas house and they had 2 him and is bro. My mom and i were going to go get him after school so i waited and waited for the bell to ring and it finally did. she came to pic me up and i asked her if we could go . she said that she called to see if he was still there and that they said someone had already came and got him .. i strarted to cry ! so when we go home i went out to see my other piggies and thei he was in his own cage !adorable 4 weeks old hiding in his hideway . He loved it . when he out grew it i took it out and he got mad . he started squeeking and wouldnt stop that he loved it so much so i had to put it bak . It was like a baby with a bottle when they out grow them they cry . When i first got him he looked like an abby with some longer hair and was skiddish now hes the man of the house! he is housed with his "girls" and they ate all of his HAIR I mean all of it ! he looks like an abby agian . His hair did go all over his face so you couldnt see is eyes I was going to show him too. We say the "girls ate all of it becasue they wanted to see his pretty eyes !. Princess
I think I hit the submit button when I didn't mean to. Princess is a 3 year old black abyssianian (spelling?) guinea pig. We got her when she was about 5 months old. She is very intelligent. She knows the sound of the car when my dad comes home from somewhere. If its not him, she knows and doesn't squeek, but if it is, you hear the loudest squeeks this guinea pig can make. She also loves her food, but if she doesn't want something that you offer, she turns her head and looks the other way. She only stays in her cage at night. The rest of the day she sits out on a bean bag chair and never gets off. If we do take her off, she goes right back to it. At night she sits on the couch with everyone. She has her own couch cushion. Her favorite foods are: carrots, lettuce, spinach and of course her honey sticks. She can destroy those sometimes within a day. Princess always keeps us laughing everyday and is always giving us little piggy kisses. She is one very special guinea pig.

BabaSwee, his grown-up name which evolved from the childhood name if Baby Sweet.
Tortoiseshell Peruvian (Boar), the above picture was taken last year at the time BabaSwee revealed his secrets of communication to me. (Please see previous submission "story" or "description" for reference. I am not submitting BabaSwee twice in error, I am providing you with a second photo, this one taken at the time he began "talking" to me. Thank you! Please contact me immediately at the address listed below if you have the slightest question.) First submission was not done correctly, second submission was fine, this is 3rd submission to provide a 2nd photo for your use, if interested or needed.

BabaSwee
BabaSwee can talk. Yes, he really can. I know it sounds crazy, but over a year ago when he was still quite a young little Boar, something strange and beautiful happened. Let me tell you about it. I had been keeping all of my CAvies in my bedroom. I paint for a living. At that time, I found the large surface of my double bed to be ideal for spreading out all of my colors and brushes. To make things even more fun, I arranged four rubbermaid storage vat-houses next to the bed, each containing a lively piggy subject for inspiration and often, for my models. the only problem with using my bed for an easel was being too comfortable. Around 4 AM, I woke to a sleeping herd and spilled watercolors. In the moonlight, I got up to find a sponge and headed towards the bedroom door. First however, I saw that the baby, BabaSwee, was wide awake and standing on his back legs, as usual, begging for a pick-up. Not wanting to wake anyone else, I leaned over Baba's cage and made a kissing noise just for him to hear. Suddenly, this little guy purred, rather loudly it seemed. Was I dreaming? No, it couldn't be, so I puckerd up again and sent a kiss in his direction. To my complete amazement, Baba purred again. In the darkness, with just a hint of moonlight and and wet paint all over my clothes, I gave the kissing noise another try and Baba purred and rumbled looking and sounding like an Ewok landing on planet Earth. That was how I discovered his special gift of communication. The next day, and I have to admit, every day thereafter, we repeat this ritual. It never fails, he always responds. I have stopped painting on my bed and taken the vats into the studio, but it has made no difference to Mr. Swee. He still purrs louder than ever, only after all this time, he does it to get my attention too. His brothers have not completely caught on leading me to believe this communication is unusual. I sometimes wonder if the Guiness Book of Records would be as interested as I ALWAYS am!
Charley Moon
Jigglypuff
Jiggly thinks he is a dog. He lays down on my bed and watches the television (he especially likes things like the cricket and tennis). He hates cabbage and when put on the floor, will not wander away without me. He was the first pig I had gotten as an adult and is not impressed by the compnay of any of the other eight pigs I have, as he considers himself somewhat above them. His favourite foods are carrots, capsicum and yarrow. He steals the bedding of the girls who live upstairs from him and has been known to leap from the bath tub in a single bound.

Mr. Scruffles of Benhill
My husband and I went to the local pet store to buy organisms to eat the algae in our waterfall pond. We were walking down the isle and I spotted an unusuan creature in a cage. It was love at first site. This was hard for my husband to believe as I have no maternal inclinations nor had I ever had a pet. What a face he had. I asked if I could touch him. He was a bit jumpy, however he loved his back rubbed. He felt just like suede and so adorable. We left the store and I went straight home to research on the internet. What is he? A cavy..a hairless albino guinea pig. The next morning I called the pet shop. To my delight he was still there. In fact he had been there 5 months waiting for me to come along. Today Scruffy has the run of the house and sleeps in a 4x4 area at night. What a joy it is to seem him "popcorn" each day. I have been truly blessed with this wonderful cavy.

Katie and Snowflake
We bought Katie when she was about 8 weeks old. We didn't know it then but she was a pregnant mommy. Two months later we found 5 cavies instead of one in the cage one morning. She had three girls and one boy. Snowflake was an albino as well as her brother snowball. We kept snowflake and found homes for the rest of the three with friends of mine. Katie unfortunately met a violent end a couple of weeks ago. Snowflake still lives though and we feel blessed to have her.

Guido
Gudio is a beautiful Roan, with white, silver, and orange. He was a gift from my husband to keep me company while I was suffering from a liver tumor. The day he came into my life, my attitude brightened immensely, he's a lifesaver! While I was hospitalized, I would call him on the phone every night, seriously, just to hear him wheek and whirr! He is such an intelligent pig, as well. He has mastered the art of escape, and can get out of every house he's resided in! He's almost a year old now, and is quite a big guy! I've since added more pigs to the family, but Guido remains the captor of my heart. He loves to sprawl out on my chest or stomach while I'm watching TV, and he always provides plenty of piggy kisses! When one of my other pigs had babies, he taught the little boars to be studly little pigs, and now they're expert butt wiggling motorboats, just like Guido!

Razz
The first thing I want to say is that Razz's name wasn't always Razz. It used to be Raspberry as some of you may remember. But now that seems babyish and it is Razz. Once upon a time a little cavy sat in a huge glass cage with no top on it and lots of other cavies were running around and playing. The cavy looked at the large tunnels that were in the cage and the food bowls and water bottles. It was nice, she thought. Very nice. But it wasn't a home. Most of these cavies weren't her brothers and sisters. And her mother wasn't there. No, her dear mother was gone forever. The little cavy thought the she might like to have another mother. Maybe a human mother. Oh those humans were very strange but they were ok. They brought her food and water and cleaned her cage. But was she greeted with a warm hug every morning? No. One day a girl who was almost ten walked in to the store. She looks nice, thought the cavy. This girl walked over to the cavy cage and looked at the sweet cavies in the cage. But only one was the cutest. Only one was black and brown. Only one was the one for her. She and her mom went back home and discussed the cavy. They finally decided to get the little cavy. So they went back to the pet store and asked the lady who took care of the cavies to put the little cavy in a box so it could go home with them. A box was prepared for the cavy and a cage was purchased. Once they were home the cavy was put in the cage. It was a nice cage. It had wire walls but no wire bottom. That was a good thing, thought the little cavy. But the cavy was scared. What if this mom wasn't nice? What if this mom didn't hug her every morning? These thoughts raced through the young cavies mind, but she would soon find out that she was wrong. For several days her new mom tried to pick her up but the little cavy was scared. What if she holds me incorrectly, the cavy asked herself. But she had nothing to worry about. The little cavy was not given a name yet. There were many but none were right. Finally her new mom called her Raspberry. A perfect name for a little pig. And then one day her mother finally caught her and held her on her shoulder. From then on that was the little cavy's favorite place to be.

Timber
Timber is a very sweet pig. He shares his home with Bailey, his younger "brother." I love this pigture of him because he looks so relaxed, yet slightly mischievous at the same time. He is the first guinea pig I've ever owned and he and Bailey make me very happy just by watching their antics. Timber is very quiet and a little shy as well, but he’s extremely good-natured. He enjoys lap time but when he’s ready to go back to his home he lets me know by pulling on my shirt – too cute! :-) Timber just recently celebrated his one year birthday.

Misty and Stewart
Misty and Stewart are soulmates. I found Misty (the himi) at the humane society. She was the most beautiful guineapig I'd ever seen. She's very precious to me. Today she is about four years old. Stewart (the albino w/ the crest) came from the pet shop. Misty needed a man, and she was too beautiful to not pass her genes down. When I placed Stewart into Misty's cage, it was love at first site. These two guineapigs have been inseperatable ever since. They are the proud parents of five beautiful children. They don't have babies anymore because they're too old.
Kristin
Dizzy
Dizzy was one of the sweetest guineapigs that we have ever had. He never once tryed to bite us. He loved to be petted. He enjoyed playing with the younger piggies. He died last yr, and I still miss him so much. He was a pretty, sweet, very gentle cavy.
Kristin
Secret
Secret is a little over a yr. old. He is such a friendly piggy. He doesn't mind taking baths. He loves to be petted. He hogs out on parsley. He is a great piggy.

Benny
Benny was the piggy who started my Cavy obsession. One pig soon turned into two pigs, which then turned into three pigs, and will soon be four. The piggies were the reason I had to find a summer job because I was running out of money for them! Out of my three pigs, Benny is definetly the loudest. Every day when he hears me coming downstairs, he doesn't wheek, he *screams* and doesn't stop until I feed him =) He also talks nonstop when he's out of his cage and likes to bite people's rings with no intention of letting them go. That's a real good way to bond with mom, let me tell ya ;)

Bunker
Bunker is my first and only guinea pig. He is about 10 week old and he is short haired cavy. I got him June 21, 2001 and he was about 6 weeks old. Bunker is very active and playful. He loves to be held and petted. Bunker is a very cute and playful cavy!

Thumper, Maggie and Lucie
Thumper, Maggie and Lucie are all related. They decided to be cute one day, so I snapped this pigture. Maggie is three, and Lucie is three. They are sisters. Thumper is Maggie's daughter, and she is two. Thumper is the gray pig, Maggie is the black pig, and Lucie is the brown and white pig.

Dixon
Dixon is a Himalayan Peruvian. He was a birthday gift from my very best friend, Evangeline. I had always wanted a Himalayan and was completely shocked when I got my birthday gift! He's probably the best gift I've ever gotten, and one of those rare occasions when all your whining actually pays off! Dixon's personality is every bit as sweet as his appearance too, so I really lucked out when I got him. He's very special to me, and if you can't tell, I'm just a little bit proud of him!

Boothie, Maggie, Lucie and Rodney

Kahlua
This lil' darlin' is the sweetest piggy who stretches and yawns each time she is picked up and placed on my tummy while I recline in the chair. In this picture she is three months of age and posing pretty as you please. Kahlua is a garden variety, purchased at a local pet store. She holds a very special place in my heart.

Hamlet
Hamlet, AKA "Hammie" or Hambone, is without a doubtt adorable. He'll lay down on my pillow or covers (like in the picture that he's yawning in), and cuddle up next to me. The longest I've been without him is 30 days when I had a long trip. I worried everyday, but he was just as affectionate when I came back! :)
Randi and Deirdre
Rusty and Blondie
Rusty and Blondie are about 6 months old. Believe it or not they are sisters, despite their much different looks. They are also very different when it comes to personality. Rusty is a calm, laid back piggie, while Blondie is a curious, wild piggie. They also have two other guinea pig friends to hang out with, and they have lots of fun together. They like to play outside in the grass, especially after it has rained. Their favorite foods are carrots, lettuce, apples, and many other kinds of fruits and veggies. They lounge around their cage most of the day and just relax, but when they hear somebody coming, or when they hear the refrigerator open or someone opening something to eat, they squeak and meep to get some attention and hopefully some snacks too. They are both loved a whole lot by their owners and by everyone else who sees them. They also like to snuggle up and if you pet them they will purr their little hearts out. They're sooo cute!!
Alex
Henry the VIII
Henry was our first (sure not to be our last) guinea pig. We adopted him from a friend that could no longer keep him. I was not too sure about a guinea pig for a pet but now that we have had 4 wonderful years with him, it's a quiet and empty livingroom without him. Unfortunately, Henry has passed on to Rainbow Bridge but he is never far from our thoughts and will forever be in our hearts. He was the sweetest, cuddliest pet we have ever had and his personality was off the charts.
Alex
Rogue and Marco Polo
Unfortunatly Rogue has already passed away, even though he was at the height of his life. He was very gentle and sweet natured, always caring to other animals. Once, we even found him curled up with a 30cm long lizard! Marco Polo (Marco) is very talkative, explorative (like his namesake), and good natured. He was foster parented by Rogue and got a bit spoilt. He was very upset at the time of Rogue's death and was extremely lonely and worried until we got him another little male friend, Inca!

Raspberry Dream
Raspberry Dream is a peruvian cavy with a little bit of Abyssinian in her. I adopted her two days before my birthday on the 14th of April. She loves to sit in the yard and eat grass for hours. When I am eating something she always squeeks to ask me if it is anything she can eat. It usually isn't but when I am having salad you can bet that cute, little, piggy look gets it for her. :o) She comes when called by her name and she can use a litter box. If we are outside grazing and Razz needs to go inside for a little break, she will run up to the door and wait there until I open it for her. She has lived with me for over a year now. I love her very much and there are no words that can describe this amazing cavy.

Abby
Abby is a ruby eyed, white Abyssinian & possibly Peruvian. She has a long story on her coming to live with our family. She is one of Cathy's rescue gp's and came all the way from PA to MN. She was described as being loud and messy, and I just had to have her. Being as I already had a messy pig, why not another? So I requested to have her, filled out an application, was approved, and then she had her long haul to get here. Since getting here she has adjusted wonderfully, (she only got here May 1, 2001) and is such a lap pig. She loves going out on her harness when we bring the kids down to the bus stop, that way she can graze for awhile. But she is 1 of 4 so they all have to take turns and since they have a forgetful slave I have to write down who went to the bus stop so they all get their turn. Abby is such a wonderful addition to our family I can't really put it into words.... She's great and she's one of a kind.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin was jsut born a couple of days ago. Here she is out on her first graze. She was shy at first. Then a little less shy. As you can see by her tubby tummy she at ALOT. She also saw a very large dandilion that day. She just ran. Her mom walked up and ate that bully. Now THAT was funny. I am sure to keep this baby. Pumpkin has a rare color. It sets her apart from all pigs. She is one of those you see and can not put down!!!!!

Raspberry
Raspberry is a loving guinea pig who I adopted on April 14th just before my birthday on April 16th. Lucie
This pretty piggy is Lucie. In this pigture, she is pregnant. One of her favorite things to do was relax. She was always relaxed. She also loved to cuddle and be held. She loved tomatoes..and bananas. She also gave kisses when you asked her..She was such a sweet pig. Lucie passed away in January. She had just turned 3. She is greatly missed by not only me, but her guinea family that she left behind: Her son, Lil' Baby, her sister, Maggie, her husband, Rodney, her neice, Thumper and her new friend Boothie2.

Coco
Coco is a male black and white peruvian. He is 1years old. He is very special to me I love him dearely. He goes to retirment homes with me and he is so great with the people He also puts up with 1 year old Christina. If I were him I would bite her(see how good of a Guinea pig I would make) Coco came from this board. I wrote how I wanted a showable pure breed peruvian guineapig. Someone answered and we worked things out to go to Pulman and pick him up. It was love at first site. He has strawberry jucie all over his cute little chin. And you would not believe how much personality he has. He loves pets and cuddles and if he does not get it find your ear plugs. Within the first couple of days he already had a bad experiance with me. I took him out to graze and left for a second came back and he was soaked. The spriklers had come on. He never forgave me for that. Another time he was out to graze he had excaped and ran into a big road. A lady stopped thinking he was a baby skunk and almost took him home. Then we came out and he was about to be stolen when we saved him. I still can not believe that a little SKUNK can stop a busy street. I am amazed the news crews did not come. Well now Coco is afraid to graze. You should see him. He refuses to eat the stuff while out there. He will eat it inside though. He is just a silly pig. He has also won many grand champion ribbons at the fair too. I am planning to show him in clubs soon. He will do just fine. I have never seen a hard competition at the fairs yet. I give all the credit to his breeders and Coco's wonderfull personality. He is the best of all worlds. He shows butifully, has great personality, good senses, cute, cuddely, and the best dad to his 3 children.. How could you not like a face like that
